Fully waterproof, windproof and breathable

Made from our new ripstop cotton TIN CLOTH® our Square Sail Coat is ready to take on the elements! Traditionally used for yacht sails and spinnakers, the fabric is woven using a special technique that makes it more resistant to ripping or tearing, and gives it a distinctive cross-hatch texture. We've added our special hi-tech waterproofing treatment. It has an adjustable peaked hood and a zip with a snap fastening flap to keep the rain out. The upper body and hood are lined in soft 100% cotton jersey with yarn-dyed stripes, while the lower body and sleeves are lined with polyester so it's easy to slip on and off. Roll back the cuffs to reveal a flash of stripes. It's finished with a curved, slightly stepped hem and two concealed in-seam front pockets. Styled to be deliberately roomy, it's easy to layer a knit underneath for cooler days. Perfect for everything from city strolls to blustery walks. Favourite coat!

Couldn't resist buying this coat whilst on holiday as it was half price in the sale. I love the colour (tomato) and fit - I could easily wear a jumper underneath, although I agree with previous reviewers that the sleeves could do with being a little longer. It is beautifully made and has a handy inside pocket which is great for protecting my glasses/phone etc. Now I'm hoping for a heavy downpour so that I can try it out!

Spuare Sail Coat

I bought this as I wanted a light rain coat for summer spring time. I love the colour and ordered my normal size 14 and it fits lovely as did my winter coat i bought earlier this year. But the only thing is that the arms are rather short and i cannot fold them up to show the pattern like in the pictures not a major problem as the coats atr true to size for me but i am big on top and slimmer on bottom.

Fabulous cheery bargain!

After much dithering I bought this in the sale and am so pleased I did. As with all things Seasalt it is beautiful quality and at almost half price, a genuine bargain. The colour was a brave departure for me as I tend to be a bit of a ‘play it safe’ sort of girl but I love it. Fit wise agree with other reviewers it is on the large side so size down (possibly even 2 sizes) and the arms are slightly on the short side.

Lovely and practical

Im off camping in wales next month and wanted a serviceable jacket. I saw the Alpine colourway and thought it was too brown until a couple of reviews said it was khaki.....so I took a chance, and bingo! Correct colour for me, love the stripe lining, and waterproof, what's not to love. If the weather holds then no matter.....if not then I will be covered, and it won't matter if the dogs jump up at me!

Very generous size

Had to go down 2 sizes in this one. Luckily was able to try on in store otherwise I probably would not have ordered this jacket. It's actually much nicer in the flesh ( ordered Tomato) and it suits my fuller finger very well and is not too long on my 5ft 1 frame. Good quality as always and light weight. Would be nice to have a bit more in the way of a trademark Seasalt logo or motif on the outer jacket but am nonetheless very pleased with it. More colours please!

The raincoat lover's raincoat

Quite simply, I couldn't love this raincoat more. I bought it in the colour Alpine which, as others mention, is more of a khaki green than the pictures show. I am usually a size 22, but following advice from other reviews I bought it in a 20, and it was the right move. It is definitely a generous fit, and a good length for me (I'm 5'7"). I love the striped lining, I love the phone pocket on the inside, I love the lightness of the jacket (whilst still feeling warm and blocking the wind) and I love the little 'Let It Rain' tag on the inside -- such a sweet addition. The day I received it I got my wellies on and went out for a rainy walk with the dog, and I was seriously the happiest person on the planet. I'm in Australia and we simply can't get raincoats like this here. This jacket is something special. I'm smitten and already planning which to get next. Thanks Seasalt, love your work.

Coat

Excellent product, well made good fit and the colour is true to the pictures. I have yet to test the coat in heavy rain but given the pedigree of the company, I have every faith that it will cope with whatever Manchester has to throw at it!!

Perfect for my needs

Really pleased with this jacket. I wanted something that can be a waterproof jacket on my cycle commute, and that also looks good enough for casual wear. This does the trick. The colour is a rich blue-green, sort of teal, that is both striking and yet neutral. The size is fine for me - I mostly take a 10, sometimes 8. I got a 10 for this jacket, needing to be slightly roomier for cycling. It fits well.

square sail jacket

Lovely! I have it in the alpine colour, which is a surprisingly neutral colour. Much nicer than the pictures on line. The sizing is big, I went down a size, I probably could have gone down again, but I think the sleeves would have been too short, but it's good to have space for a woolly underneath. The fabric has a slight texture, which is lovely. The pockets are generous and it's been tested - definitely waterproof.I would recommend it.
