I have been delighted with this jacket for a couple of years. Fit, comfort and rainproofing wonderful.
However: I had been reluctant to wash it in case rainproofing was affected. Taking the plunge and washing it very carefully as directed at 30 degrees in Nikwax I find that it has shrunk. Sleeves now too short and, since lining did not shrink, it hangs peculiarly.

Crumpled !

My Seafolly Jacket was creased and crumpled when unpacked and despite "hanging" it for a few days the creases remain. I am reluctant to get the iron on it , fearing the waterproof coating would be damaged. Advice please!

Cute spring jacket

Shipping to Japan was pretty fast and I was so excited to receive my parcel. I ha a huge dilemma deciding between this and the long version but decided on this because I already own a longer wax jacket by another brand. It is terribly cute and perfect for the light spring rains here in Japan. I am a size 8 and t fits true to size. I have no issue with the size of the hood. I think it fits snug which is good protection from the rain. The color is more muted in person and I am wondering if I should get the red one too!

Holy pocket!

I was excited to finally be able to but this coat. I am disappointed though, as the pocket lining has a huge hole in it. I am still debating whether to mend it myself as i love the coat and my size is no longer available. Would have expected better quality control though.

Rain jacket

Wonderful jacket and a splendid colour (Jewel). Was pleased to find that Seasalt uses recyclable packaging but in common with so many other labels found it SOOO difficult to remove my name and address before re-cycling it. Is there a knack to this?

A 'Jewel" of a jacket!

After having eyed the Seafolly jacket for years I finally snatched one up in the recent sale and I am chuffed to bits! The Jewel colourway is absolutely wonderful. The fabric is a good weight to make it hang nicely without being too heavy, and the lenght is spot on. The arm lenght is a bit on the short side for me (I have quite long arms, so this isn't a fault with the design). I love the details on the coat, the pockets are nice and deep and the flap stays well put. Seeing the 'ahoy there' label on the inside front makes me chuckle each time I open the coat.

Going by reviews, I initially sized up to a 16 so I could also wear thicker jumpers or more layers underneath. I simply drowned in it, so I exchanged it for a size 14 which fits much better and I can close it all the way up. (my frame puts me in a size 12 but my chest puts me in a size 14/16, so finding RTW that fits well can be a challenge).

I'd say it fits true to size; the shoulders do seem to run on the narrow side, so that is something to take into account. As others have noted, the pocket-bags could benefit from being made out of a beefier lining fabric. I hardly ever carry a bag with me, so having good pockets in a jacket are essential.

Spoilt for a halfpence of tar!

Lovely jacket in cotton with cotton lining to body BUT WHY where the sleeves lined with polyester, which is a synthetic material. This could have been a truly organic jacket, good for the environment, especially the oceans and was spoilt by a halfpence of tar by failing to complete the job and line the sleeves with cotton. Not a bright thing to do Seasalt as you could have sold this to the many people genuinely seeking completely organic clothing! Have only given this a 3 - if the sleeves had been cotton would have scored it 5.

Seafolly jacket :
The redcurrant one is really beautiful . And the jacket is very comfy .
As I am not very tall , 162cm (5 .3 feet )the jacket is long enough to cover my back .... and lower .
I am 110cm (40DD) and the size 20 is roomy enough for a thick norvegian jumper .
Thanks a lot for the raincoat I was looking for !

I was so pleased this summer when I took the plunge and finally fitted myself out with a seasallt jacket.: Looking for something smart stylish and waterproof to go shopping in this weekend I wore it with confidence that was shortly to prove unwarranted. Half an hour of walking round the shops in the pouring rain and my jacket started to seep water into the arms - not up the cuffs but through the fabric. By the time we were through I was cold, damp and miserable, This was not a waterproof jacket at all, showerproof at best. Only other gripe is that it doesn't do up fully to the neck and leaves a gap where the wind and rain blow into your neck. This may be the last seasalt "waterproof" jacket I ever purchase. Definitely not fit for purpose and claims of waterproofness are by no means substantiated. Buyer beware. Only other gripe is that I need to size up to fit my shoulders as the fit is very tight, and then baggy round the hips! Tested on Cornish clifftops? In the rain? I don't think so.
