A New Favourite!

I am so very pleased with this raincoat! I chose Tulip Stem Dark Night and it's such a pretty print that will surely cheer me up on a dreary day. A nice change from my typical green tones and monochromatic coats and jackets. I read the reviews that mentioned it was a bigger fit, so went with a size 12 (I'm usually a 12 or 14 with Seasalt) and it's a good fit. I have an hourglass shape with slightly broad shoulders and back, so it feels a bit snug (although not unbearably tight) in the shoulders and upper arms when I layer it with a heavier wool jumper, but I'm hoping it will give a bit with wear and stretch out. Otherwise, the A-line fit ensures there is plenty of room everywhere else.

If you have a pear shaped body, I'd say go with a smaller size, which will still accommodate wider hips, but if you're very broad in the shoulders or have an ample bosom, you may want to stick with your regular size. As for the sleeves, they are the right length for me. The length of the coat is also perfect, just reaching my knees (I'm just under 5'4). The hood is on the larger end but I have a tiny head so all hoods drown me. On a positive note, I can wear the hood over a wool toque and have plenty of room for rain and wind coverage.

Seasalt, it would be great if you would list all measurements in the description (shoulders, waist, hips, etc.) to make it easier to gauge sizing.

Sizing

I am a standard size 14 but the hood is very large and the sleeves are about an inch too long. The coat itself is lovely being much nicer than the pictures so I’m torn as to return it or live with it

Saltstone Coat

Very pleased with my coat, however I wish the hood was detachable or at least adjustable as I find it huge. Lovely fabric and pattern.

Top quality and great fit

A beautiful raincoat, top quality material and a flattering style. Being new to Seasalt I was worried about sizing, but the Fit Finder helped me choose the right size.

Sizing Issues

I find that Seasalt garments generally run large so always size down accordingly. This coat is no exception although I could have easily gone down another size.. The hood however is just massive and I have a large head and thick hair. I walk my dogs in all winds and weathers so need a comfortable hood that stays in place. I found it that adjusting the drawcords completely enclosed my face making it impossible to see. The coat itself is stylish, well made and a lovely pattern and colour. Another reluctant return due to sizing issues.

So in love with this raincoat

My husband ordered me Saltstone Tulip Stem Dark Night for a Christmas present after I had dropped several hints. His generosity was rewarded with a sale price reduction but to be honest, I wanted this particular version of the Saltstone raincoat regardless. The dark terracotta design of the Tulips on the Dark Night background is really lovely, I preferred this version to the green check one! The raincoat is warm and yet light and the size chosen fits me perfectly with room for warm jumpers underneath. As far as I am concerned there is no problem with the size of hood whatsoever, the extra toggles enable the hood to actually stay on my head. I can truly write that I love this raincoat to bits and my old M&S one is now consigned to the local charity shop!

Nice pattern.

Nice pattern although I had thought it was navy. Very roomy not flattering, not for me I'm afraid.

Great raincoat and looks quite dressy

Lovely coat, great for the rain and a nice weight. Warm enough without being too warm when out walking. Bonus is it looks quite dressy. Size is roomy but it’s an autumn/winter coat so room for jumpers underneath. Love it.

Lovely coat but has issues to address

This is a gorgeous coat! It is roomy (I am normally a 16, although in the Janelle it was very tight, and this coat is lovey and spacious for jumpers etc), completely windproof, has a hood big enough to go up over a ponytail, and the sleeves are a good length. I have had several comments on it.

However, there are issues with the dye transferring from the lining. My pottery studio jumper is completely ruined as it now has a dark blue stain all around the sleeves and under the arms. And the thighs of some oatmeal jeans I have are covered in blue stain. That makes for an expensive coat. So, it looks lovely, performs brilliantly, but beware what you wear underneath this coat.

Warm, practical and stylish.

Beautifully made and perfect for this colder weather without being too warm when walking. I love the attention to detail and excellent quality of all Seasalt’s clothes. The material has a soft feel whilst you can have all confidence in a downpour.
