Would recommend

Lovely fit, good length with sleeves plenty long enough. I really like the colour (graphite). Unlike many other raincoats, the hood stays on. Really comfortable, good looking coat, received many good comments. Zip can be fiddly, may be better if it went right down to bottom but not a huge problem.

What is the colour in real?

I was very dissapointed about the colour of Oak coat. I saw it on many computers and mobile phones and it seemed to be yellow but when I got it, it was brown/green. Had to send it back which costs almost 20 pounds :(. Very sad

Dear Marta,
Thanks for your review of the Plant Hunter Coat, sorry the colour wasn’t perfect for you on this occasion, and you were able to take advantage of our no quibble return policy. We do try to ensure that the actual colour is as accurate as the image shown on the website. A number of factors can have an impact on any colour discrepancy, for example; the resolution on your pc, and lighting (studio or external) I will certainly feed your comments back to the relevant team for their attention.
Best wishes, Seasalt

Excellent coat

I’m delighted with my coat, it’s spacious (but doesn’t feel like it’s wearing me), it’s cosy with a good sized hood and useful pockets. It’s proved to be wind and rain proof and I love it!

Great coat

Great coat, generous size and good length on me (I am 165cm). It's not quite as warm as I had hoped - I find I need to wear an extra layer compared to my non-waterproof down coat and still feel a bit chilly in it once temperature close to zero.

Lovely coat

I really love this coat, it fits perfectly and looks modern as well as being very functional. It's really well made and feels like quality when wearing it. I would recommend this coat which is worth paying for.

Lovely coat but ....

There is such a lot that I love about this coat. Very lightweight and a great colour and I really like the longer sleeve length. However, this is the second Planthunter coat I’ve had and I don’t think it is as warm and cosy as my previous one. The other problem I have is with the hood. My previous coat had a hood that didn’t blow off in the wind and which kept my face dry in the rain. This hood sits much further back which means the rain falls on my face - not much fun when you wear glasses. I always thought that the Planthunter was the ultimate winter coat but I have to say that I am a bit disappointed with this one.

I love this coat!

I needed a warm and waterproof coat for walking to work and found this in my favourite local shop. It was just what I was looking for. I got it in Oak, size 10. The colour is different, cheerful and interesting and it’s roomy enough for wearing over a jumper.
Some years ago I was after having a Seasalt coat but had to send them back, one by one, as the fit for me was very wrong in each one - too tight in the bottom and too large in the shoulders. This Plant Hunter coat is the perfect fit! Plenty of room around the hips but fitting nicely in the shoulders. At last! The perfect coat! I might need to save up for another one in Graphite.... 😃

Plant Hunter Coat

Really good coat - great fit, very well made, lovely colour.
One issue - I find it really hard to get the zip to work, it usually takes a few attempts (which is a bit frustrating when it's raining and I'm wearing gloves!). I'm assuming that this is because it's a two-way zip, hopefully I will get used to it.

Happy customer

First of all my compliments to Seasalt! I ordered my coat on Tuesday December 18 and by Friday December 21 it arrived on my address in the Netherlands!!!! Thank you very much for this fast delivery!!!

I love the coat! I have worn it when it was rather cold and windy and felt very confortable in it. I have not experienced any cold on my arms (yet). As I have rather wide hips, I was very pleased to find a coat in my parcel that not only fits my hips very well, but at the same time not too roomy on my shoulders. So overall I'm very happy with my coat!! Thank you again!!
Below I'm going to tick the box "true to size", because it fits my body perfectly. Maybe customers with less wide hips than me will find the coat a bit wide in that area.

Not warm enough

I was initially pleased with my purchase and in fact I ended up with the lino berry dark lake version and not the grey. I have had a number of compliments about the style and colour of the parka but having worn it and I am really disappointed as it is nowhere near as warm as I expected it to be. The picture shows a quilted lining on the bottom half and a faux fur lining at the top but the sleeves are only lined with a thin layer of nylon.. What looks like a warm lining is not warm at all and my arms certainly feel the cold. I am puzzled as to why the manufacturer would think that arms do not need warmth. The faux fur and quilting is very thin and at £150 I would expect better!
