Sooooooo pleased with this coat - ticks all the boxes: practical but very stylish, excellent manufacturing quality. Delivery etc first rate.
Couldn't be happier with purchase.

Love my new coat, now I don’t mind walking the dog in the rain because it keeps me warm and dry, all I need now is the same for the dog :: -)

Coat of the Season

I've been planning to buy a Seasalt winter raincoat for a couple of years because I needed to get some more wear out of my old coat ( not Seasalt). I finally made my purchase last week. What a fantastic coat this is~ so easy to wear, stylish and warm without being to heavy or bulky. Having pondered over the patterned coat and the oak, I chose slate. I really like the contrasting coloured fleece lining and I've got different scarves to give it a pop of colour and to keep it interesting. As other reviews have said, it comes up a little big but I like that - room for additional layers ( although it'd need to be pretty cold for that) or just to snuggle down in to it. The length is good - comes down to my knee - so I can wear a dress or skirt underneath without it getting wet. The dipped hem keeps the back of your knees warm and protects from spray/splashes. This coat manages to combine smart style with a casual feel. Poppers on the sleeve mean you can roll back the cuff or put it on over those extra layers easily. The poppers on the back are eye-catching and practical. Love it! Thank you, Seasalt.

Perfect!

I've had the Plant Hunter for some months now and I absolutely love it! I live in Glasgow so the coat has truly been tested in rain and wind, and it's really kept me warm and dry. I also like the length of it, keeps the legs dry too. I'm usually size 10, got this in 8 and it fits perfectly. Not too loose, but also fits more layers underneath. The Oak colour is beautiful, the colour seems to change a bit depending on the light, sometimes it looks a bit more greenish and sometimes a bit more yellowish. In any case, it somehow goes super well together with most colours!

Best buy

Can't say anything bad about this coat the pattern is lovely and subtle the fit is comfortable, enough room for a jumper, the coat is nice and warm so you don't need much underneath. I've worn it today in the rain and it kept me completely dry. The longer length at the back is great very stylish. I would recommend this coat well worth the money. Love it!

Great Buy

This lovely coat is such a good buy. I bought it online which is unusual as I am often disappointed and send things back. It's a joyful colour, roomy so that I can wear a sweater underneath but not so big as to be too bulky. Warm, very good quality, a flattering shape and has brightened up these winter months.

Planthunter family

Daughter developed coat envy when she saw just how snuggly my Planthunter petit coat was. She’s now the proud owner of a Planthunter tall (11” taller than me ☹️) and we both have coats where the waist is where it should be. She has the bonus of sleeves long enough to keep her wrists dry. I must have long arms for my height because I find the petit just a touch short in the arms - but nothing a pair of wrist-warmers won’t solve! Both coats are roomy in the arms for a heavy jumper - though I find the coat is warm enough without, unless it’s very cold. Both have snuggly, fine fleece-lined hoods & upper body and the honey cream colour is nicely subtle, while providing contrast. The almost black goes with pretty much everything and the understated styling touches won’t date & good for different age groups.
Love them! Our only problem now is when we grab the wrong coat in a hurry! Increasing your range of petit & tall options would mean we can buy different summer macs and not be too “matchy matchy” when we’re out together - please.

Excellent coat - pockets need improvement

I do love this coat but am disappointed that the pocket inners are only thin lining material both sides. My 5 year old Seasalt Jacket has tin cloth both sides of the pockets. I tried on many other coats with better pockets! But came back to this because I like it - it's the right length and weight warmthwise for me, and suited me. Sizewise - I read about sizing down so tried both a 10 and a 12. I am normally size 12-14. This is interesting actually as both sizes fitted - but fitted differently. I had room for warm layers in both sizes. I normally prefer a closer fit but the 12 actually looked nicer, felt more casual and comfortable and hung better on me and seemed very slightly longer as well. The look on me of the 12 is the same as the photo of the model wearing the Firth coloured coat - the 10 fitted more like a snug parka. I absolutely loved the patterned "Running Stitch Fathom" but the Firth colour suited me better so I got the 12 in Firth. Buying a good winter coat takes some consideration and I would suggest trying two sizes and going for the look and feel you want because more than one size will fit but you get a different look/style. I didn't want a really really warm winter coat - I prefer to layer clothing, being of an age where, when I get too hot I get really hot! And very quickly - so it's good to be able to take a layer off. I wear this coat open usually, with a gilet or a tweedy jacket underneath and it's just right for winter, and just fasten it in foul wet weather. I expect for spring and autumn I will just wear lighter layers under it. The drawstring waist doesn't work for me - I prefer it as it is without the drawstring being gathered. But I have a suggestion for the designer - start the draw cord at the waist seam, rather than at the front, to give a gathered back and a straight front. This avoids looking like a sack tied round the middle! I have another coat where this is done and it works very well - a stylish feminine look with the gathered back but more flattering at the front. Better pocket material as well! I am prepared to have to reline the pockets on mine but fingers crossed they will last. I doubt they will last 10 years though, like my old winter coat.

Impulse buy

Walked into your Penzance shop while visiting family after Xmas, saw this coat, tried it on and loved it. The sizing is generous so great when wearing bigger jumpers and the style is so flattering.
