For every collection our print designers, Sophie and Kathryn, create an array of beautiful hand-drawn prints. Each print is unique to us, you won't find them anywhere else.
This month, you’ll find some very special designs that are inspired by the beautiful flowers and architecture in the cathedral cities of Truro and Quimper. We were lucky enough to visit the north coast of France to shoot our SS17 collection.
Kathryn Fowler, Seasalt print designer
This evocative print was hand-drawn by Kathryn at our design studios in Falmouth. It’s inspired by the traditional timbered buildings that line the cobbled streets of Quimper. When you look closely, you’ll spot lots of fun little details on the windows and chimneys, and the fresh blue and white colour combination works so well on this versatile dress.
For this delicate floral motif, Sophie was inspired by the brushwork decoration on famous Quimper pottery.
Drawing inspiration from intricate handmade lace in Brittany, Kathryn created this pretty flower pattern. We love the contrast between the pale print and the deep blue background.
Brightly coloured daisies in Quimper and the marks found on traditional pottery inspired Kathryn to create this print. We love the loosely painted flowers and fresh palette.
