For every collection, our print designer Sophie Chadwick creates an array of beautiful hand-drawn prints, all inspired by Cornwall. Each print is unique to us, you won't find them anywhere else.
This month, you'll find some really special designs, inspired by the sprawling grasslands, flowery hedgerows and mining heritage of North Cornwall
Sophie drew this vignette of iconic Cornish tin mines overlooking the rugged, north coast of Cornwall. We love the pretty clumps of thrift on the fields, and dream of walking along the coast path.
Artist (and Sophie's mum) Kaye Treloar created beautiful watercolour paintings of the delicate cow parsley growing in abundance along the hedgerows of North Cornwall. It's instantly recognisable with its tall stems and masses of frothy, white flowers.
This design is based on the sketches made by Kaye of the blankets of heather found on the exposed grasslands on the north coast of Cornwall - tin mining country.
This geometric design of little silhouetted tin mines is our Cornish take on a houndstooth print!
Inspired by the motif of the tin miners in Devon and Cornwall, Sophie drew the motif's three rabbits chasing one another to create this circular design. Look closely and you'll see that although each rabbit appears to have two ears, only three are actually drawn.
