Pont-Aven Florals & Brush Marks

Every one of our prints is lovingly hand-sketched, drawn or painted by our print designers Sophie and Kathryn. This month we continue our journey around Brittany and visit the arty harbour town of Pont-Aven. Brush marks, daubs and painterly textures give our latest print designs an expressive, carefree feel. The lanes of Pont-Aven and the bridge and gardens along its river provided rich inspiration for our new florals, from oversized blooms to cheery ditsys. Each print is unique to us, you won't find them anywhere else.

Petite Fleur

Paintings from Kathryn’s sketchbook, created on the banks of the river in Pont-Aven provided the inspiration for this pretty print. We love the vibrant colour palette of this floral design.

Artist's Posy

Sophie was struck by the beautiful floral elements in Vincent van Gogh's paintings of Pont-Aven. She tried to replicate the quality of his brushwork in this design for Seasalt.

The rich colours and distinctive look of anemones inspired Kathryn to paint this beautiful, bold print. Outfit each style effortlessly with denim or plain linen jersey, now and all through the summer, or wear it from head to toe!

Abstract Palette

Sophie took a small section of one of the paintings created by her uncle, artist Ron King, as her inspiration for this print. She enlarged it and incorporated all the juicy colours found on an artist's palette to make this unique design.

Sophie Chadwick, our co-founder and print designer, has chosen three of her all time favourite unique prints from over the years. Watch our film to find out more.
