We had an unforgettable weekend at Port Eliot Festival this summer!
Down by the river, the sound of traditional sea shanty singing filled the air in our Fisherman’s Yard, while our series of inspiring workshops, with special guest artists, celebrated the best of our Cornish maritime and artistic heritage.
Amid the buoys, driftwood, agapanthus and grasses, festival goers learnt how to make a whole host of goodies in our Make & Take workshops, including hand painting neckerchiefs, paper flower making, knotted jewellery, screen-printing on tote bags, paper crafts and customising Seasalt Sailor Shirts with nautical designs. Meet our special guest artists:
Passers-by pulled up a chair to play our ‘have a go piano’, tried their hand at a game of quoits, learnt how to finger knit, and when the heat of the day (and a little drizzle!) had passed, relaxed in a deckchair and enjoyed some Tea Time Tales with our storyteller.
What a fantastic weekend we had, full of words, music, food, fashion and flowers, all set in the beautiful grounds of Port Eliot House in St Germans, Cornwall.
