Not what I expected

This raincoat is overpriced. I loved the red colour, but that is as far as it goes. The raincoat makes an annoying sound when you move, so surely for the price it is, this could have been sorted. I have bought Seasalt raincoats in the past and I have loved them all, but this one just disappoints. There are fewer pockets, the sleeves are wide and open (I like the inner elasticated ones for total protection), it feels like you are wearing a tent as there is no waist definition to give it a bit of style. Unfortunately I had to send it back.

long seafollyjacket

This was a bit of an indulgence ( but I took advantage of a special offer) as I already have the shorter version - which I love. The longer one is equally good. The length means it covers you when its raining. I'm a size 14 but I ordered a 16 as I like plenty of room ( and i can wear several jumpers underneath in the winter). As a 'nearly 70 year old' I love the chance to wear bright yellow - so cheerful.

All you need is rain

This is the best way to look good on a grey rainy day. Why have a drab black or blue coat when you can have a raspberry coloured one! Not only does it look good; it also keeps you dry. So many cheaper raincoats don't do that, so well worth the money.

I have been searching for this jacket for weeks. I stumbled across sea salt by accident, but it is the best mistake I have ever made. The coat is amazing, the lining is fab. There is a great pocket on the inside for my phone, as there is no zip or popper on the ouside pockets (not really an issue to be honest) I am just gutted it has not rained since I have bought it. It was a bit more expensive that I was expecting to pay, but it really is work every penny.

Fabulous coat

Love this coat, it's exactly what I needed - a summer coat for those rainy days (which luckily we haven't had for a few weeks!) Great for going walking or popping to the shop and I will wear it for work too as it is smart enough for me to do so. Fab!

The rain stopped on delivery!! ....

.... however it's a great jacket - love the colour, the fit and the fun toggle fasteners. It's not too heavy for summer showers yet roomy enough to don an extra layer in colder weather. Ideal for dog walking.
I'm not going to wish a return to the wet weather we've endured but I'm sure I'll enjoy wearing the jacket when it appears!

Sea Folly Jacket

Love it! A jacket that's actually long enough for me (5'9"). Bright and cheery, found myself wearing on days when it was not technically needed. I suspect my subliminal self was thinking of childhood days of splashing around in puddles with yellow mac and matching sou'wester and wellie boots.

The perfect timeless jacket!

I bought this jacket after buying the Janelle II last winter and finding it amazingly warm, waterproof and windproof as well as elegant. I now needed a summer jacket and had been eyeing the Long Seafolly. So far so good, the jacket is beautiful and true to size, still leaving room for a chunky jumper to wear until the end of summer. The colour is stunning! a timeless, beautiful mustard shade with gorgeous Breton stripes lining. It is great to have the peace of mind that this jacket comes with a guarantee meaning that the £120 price is actually not that much compared to similar jackets in other shops.

I've worn it already in a rainy and cool springtime day in Edinburgh and it did the trick in keeping me warm and dry. I love the fact that it has all the features of a sturdy, strong raincoat but also that it looks elegant and can be worn without looking like an outdoors or hiking jacket.

Also, as usual the Seasalt customer service is excellent! super quick delivery, attentive staff and easy returns. Every time I had a question either by chat or by email, it was answered promptly. Overall an excellent purchase!

Disappointed with quality but gorgeous colour

After spending 6 months deciding between the (slightly cheaper) joules and sea salt jackets I was really disappointed with the quality of the seafolly. The thin jersey pocket linings are definitely not going to last long, and I just can’t seem to get the creases out since it has been delivered. It also seems to be a magnet for Labrador hair (which is not a good look!) and makes an annoying crinkly sound whenever you move (minor annoyance). Nearly bought 2 colours, so I think I’ll give the joules one a go next time. Lovely colour though!

Dear Fliss,

Thanks for your review of the Long Seafolly Jacket. We're sorry to hear that the creases in your Seasalt Coat haven't dropped out yet.
We wouldn't recommend ironing the surface, as this might damage the special waterproof surface of the fabric. However, there is something else you might like to try: if your iron has a "continuous steam" setting (often used for items already hanging, e.g. curtains) this is extremely useful for reducing creases in garments. It's a similar process to the professional steamer machines used in many clothing shops.
Simply hang the coat up, then from a short distance away, use the continuous steam setting on a medium heat, to allow steam to penetrate the fabric without the iron actually touching the coat. It's usually very quick and effective. Alternatively, you can hang the coat in a steamy environment, such as a bathroom for a short while. The creases should naturally fall out.
If we can be of any further assistance to you, please do not hesitate in contacting us by email, or phone our friendly customer services team on 01326 640075 or please contact us via Live Chat which can be found on our website https://www.seasaltcornwall.co.uk

Best wishes, Seasalt

Long Seafolly

Checked reviews and chose larger size to account for wide shoulders. Great quality jacket in lovely colour (jewel), and fitted across shoulders, but large around hips etc., and not as long as I had hoped so returned. The fabric is perfect, and will try another style in store as waterproof jacket in natural fibre is a rare find.
