Sleeve lengths

I just wanted to mention that at 5' 7" I do find sleeves an issue with some of your clothes. This was a case in point. Tried in shop and sleeves were too short. Otherwise a great coat but didn't buy cos of the sleeves.

Sleeves need to be longer

I ordered this coat with some other styles and kept this one despite the sleeves being a little too short, they were a better length than the other styles. I do have long arms, these are just about ok fully turned down, but really need to be an inch longer to cover jumper cuffs etc in rain. I wore it in heavy rain and my fringe got completely soaked because the hood doesn't come down far enough, a peak or a bit more depth would resolve this. It's a nice coat, but these 2 things let it down. Fine if you have shorter arms and a shorter neck so the hood comes further over to cover your hair properly!

Dear SarahSchool,
Thanks for your review of the Porthchapel Mac and for your feedback. We have a very robust feedback system in place, so I’ll feed your comments about sleeve length and design to the relevant team for their future consideration.
Best wishes, Seasalt

So nearly there...

Love the body fit, particularly the longer back, which will really keep me dry in a spring down pour...quality and styling spot on. Sized down and still very generous. Lovely long sleeves.
Agree with a few other reviews, Seasalt hoods are so small! Want something to fully cover and have plenty protecting the face... I have the Sea Folly and this one too, comes up short here. It's a rain coat, so be a bit more generous please!

Hood disappoints

Just received this coat yesterday (very quick delivery) and tested in very windy weather in London today.
The coat is a very roomy fit on the top half, even though I have big shoulders, but I don't mind this, makes moving easier. However even though the coat is very roomy, the hood really disappoints. It does not cover my head, sits back from the forehead and does not stay up at all. Had it been raining I'd be soaked thanks to the generous neck opening and hood not covering the head! (I do not have a particularly large head..) So I'm left wondering whether to return or not. Also not as windproof as I expected, I wore 2 layers of light woolly jumpers underneath and was originally warm, but really quite cold as soon as the wind hit. I had high expectations and wanted to love this coat. What a shame.

Another Winner

I have been longingly looking at this Porthchapel MAC for some time. Every time I buy from Seasalt I am never disappointed. I am a tall gal and so love being comfortable in what I wear and this ticks all my boxes. Having recently retired it’s great to have something nice to stride out in when I take my daily exercise...... a roomy look being tall it just adds to my comfort. Also I’m addicted to Seasalt since having found them! It is beautifully made and is so light in weight that you don’t feel in anyway restricted. That is why your coats are so popular I think. To add to all this I bought in the sale so feel well and truly spoilt. Many thanks to the team and continue what you are doing well.

Fabulous coat

I bought this coat in the last Seasalt sale. It’s kept me warm, cosy and very dry throughout the winter. It’s a lovely coat, good quality and true to size..

So flattering

This is my first coat from Seasalt and I'm over the moon. It's lightweight so you do need to wear layers underneath but that's not a problem. Main thing is the cut and style is so flattering I can't stop checking myself in mirrors when I'm wearing it :D I've never had such a stylish rainproof coat before. I did go a size smaller though. Usually I'm a 12 (14 for dresses as I'm a pear shape), and got this mac in size 10 and it fits just right with room for layers underneath. I can see myself wearing it all autumn and spring.

Smart, Comfortable Raincoat

So pleased to receive my new Porthchapel Mac. It is very comfortable and with room to add layers if needed. It fits perfectly and the chalk colour is ideal to match with everything. I judge horse events in Australia and really needed a smart mac to throw over my dressy outfits in case of rain. I can't wait to wear it and a big thanks to the customer service girls for their assistance...they are truly amazing!

Fab Lightweight Jacket

After years of shapeless boring coloured plus size jackets I was absolutely delighted to find the Porthchaple Mac.
It's lightweight enough that it doesn't feel bulky, even when worn over a jumper, yet windproof enough that even if you wear it over a lightweight top or dress it keeps you warm.
The length is great too, especially with it being slightly dipped at the back, it means that even when you sit down the jacket still covers you nicely.
For the first time in ages I feel suitably dressed and ready to face whatever the weather throws at me when I am out walking my dogs.
