Wonderful coat!

For me the fit is perfect. As I´d like it to be a spring coat it´s fine that the sleeves are less insulated than the rest of the body. The slight A shape is wonderful for bike riding, and the hood is prefect. The colour is a little darker than on the photos, and that is even better for me. Really pleased with this.

Lovely but returned.

Received jacket today but sorry to say having to return it. Bought size 14 but as other reviewers have said it was too snug across the shoulder for me and hard to lift arms up but fine elsewhere. It was a lovely jacket and could see me getting loads of wear out of it if only it was a better fit!

Really lovely coat

This is the latest addition to my collection of Seasalt rain coats and I’m really impresssed. For starters, the outside fabric feels lovely and surprisingly soft. It also feels just a nice inside, with a quilted bottom section, then a soft, stripy section, then a really soft fleecy material in the top section and hood. Because of this, it feels substantial and, I would say, makes a great in between seasons coat (you could also wear it with a jumper underneath in winter). The deep pockets outside as well as the phone pocket and breast pocket inside are super handy. And I love that you can roll up the sleeves to show a little of the stripy interior. Plus, there’s lovely little touches like the peak on the hood which you can popper back for a sleeker look if you want (when it’s not so rainy!). Only problem was choosing between the colours (which are gorgeous too)!

Fabulous coat

I have worn this coat a couple of times now and I love it! It really is great against the wind and rain and I love the big pockets and the fleecy lining. There's also a couple of inside pockets, one on the side near your torso, and one nearer to the middle-bottom of the coat. It's a good length and the extra popper on the hood is great for holding onto when it's really windy! I think if you wear thick jumpers or like layering up in the winter, then I would size up as I've found the usual size I wear is quite snug if I'm wearing a thick jumper or a hoodie. I think it's probably also not a true winter coat as I was wearing it one chilly evening and my arms were quite cold, and I think the padding isn't sufficient enough for colder temps. However, It does seem to be actually breathable too as I'm usually sweating buckets in other waterproof jackets that I have. Overall I'm really pleased with this coat.

Read some negative reviews of this coat but as a size 22 gorgeous gal this beautiful coat kept me warm, ,dry and stylish on a very snowy dog walk and a very blowy beach walk in Northumberland and the hood stayed up while allowing me to see where I was going amazing ! Fantastic 48 hrs free delivery on a sale item what's not to love.

MaenPorthole jacket

Found this coat far to baggy on me. It fits under the. arms buts that’s all. The smaller size will be too tight as I wear jumpers in the winter also this jacket is not as cosy as my Tiller coats the lining is thinner which is unsuitable for travelling on foot a lot in the cold wet months

Wanting something to move on to from previous raincoat. Sufficiently broad at hip level to be able to do up comfortable . I have never found a full length zip practical to put on and off, as you spend ages trying to to fit the 2 bottom parts together - perhaps 2-3 times while out if you are travelling by car or going into a shop wear it is warner. However the poppers are sufficiently close together happily ignore the zip fastening. Comfortable to wear and I enjoy the fabric.

More Fashion Than Function

The Maenporth Coat is not a winter raincoat as advertised. It will do for mid-season but if you need something to keep you warm in cold weather this coat misses the target. It looks good but there is only a bit of blue fur lining in the hood and the top back of the coat. There does seem to be some flimsy padding around the bottom and front but nothing in the arms. Every time I've worn it in cold weather my arms have been freezing. It's a bit like wearing a gilet. Although the coat is generous around the hips the upper arm seams are too tight to fit a thick jumper underneath. I've found many Seasalt items suffer from this tightness in the upper arm seams. If I hadn't worn it out I would have returned it. The coat looks gorgeous but doesn't make good, protective outdoor wear. Just a coat for fashion purposes. I ended up buying another warm raincoat elsewhere.

Great coat, But!

This is a lovely warm coat, roomy around the middle but I found it very tight around my upper arms, after wearing it a few times it has loosened a little. Major problem though, freezing cold today so I decided to zip it closed except the zip doesn't work. Took it off and tried to do it up on the table it still will not close so unfortunately I will have to bring it back to the shop and see if there is anything they and do .
Really disappointed.

Dear AdO,

Thanks for your review of the Maenporth Coat; sorry to hear you’ve experienced an issue with the zip. The thing about 2-way zips, is that they can generally be a little tricky to do up, however, it’s all in the preparation! If you take the coat into your local Seasalt store our friendly staff will be very happy to give help and advice.
Should you require any further information Our friendly customer service team are on hand either by email, by phone on 01326 640075 or by Live Chat via our website.

Best wishes, Seasalt

Love my coat

I do love this coat .. except .. I don’t understand the ultra thin sleeves ( which is what I wanted all over) and the furry back and hood. I was particularly after just a thin jacket to wear spring and autumn. Which the sleeves are perfect for. The good and back are so warm warm I think I’ll get too hot. On the whole it’s a great coat . The fit is s little on the big side. I went up a size. Prehaps for this coat I’m an inbetween size
