Our Plant Hunter Coat is a relaxed-fitting, parka-style coat ready to take on the elements! Made from beautifully soft, cotton-rich tincloth fabric, it falls to mid-thigh at the front and has a dipped, fishtail hem at the back with snap fastening vent. The top half of the coat is lined with cosy fleece fabric, while the bottom half is quilted to keep the chill at bay throughout the winter. The cosy, fleece-lined hood has an adjustable drawcord, and it has a handy two-way zip, snap fastening front pockets and poppered cuffs so you can roll the sleeves up or down.

Plant Hunter

Its a reasonably expensive coat so I didn’t want to make a mistake, so after stalking it for a number of months I bit the bullet and bought it. I’ve worn it almost every day and am really pleased with it. It’s warm and long as well as waterproof so you feel protected from all weathers. It has toggles for your waist and hood so that you can shape it to your fit. It is on the large side so I bought a 12 when normally I would be a 14 - so try it on before you buy. I would totally recommend as it covers all my needs for a winter rain coat plus it looks good.

I bought this for winter and it's just the job.
The fleece lining is so soft and cosy the quilted part smart and practical . There is enough room for a thick jumper and the sleeves are roomy and comfortable. I love the colour Oak.....its rich and saturated and seems to go with everything! Waterproof and lightweight, what more could one wish for in a winter parka?

Great coat!

I bought size 10T and it’s great. Sleeve length is long enough as is overall coat. It’s quite generous, and I’m sure I could fit several warm things underneath so I wouldn’t recommend sizing up particularly. Possibly even size down..?! It feels light but it’s really warm and so far been 100% waterproof. It is a bit noisy, crunchy, but that’s fine for me. And if Seasalt were to update the hood to be a bit more generous it’d be perfect. But it’s still five stars for me. I love it.

Rain - who cares!!!!!!!

I absolutely love this coat. Warm, comfortable, totally waterproof - tested it for real - and the first time I wore it I had so many comments about how my friends loved it - asked where I got it from, so of course I told them. True fit, extremely well made and finished and really dont care if it rains again. Thanks for excellent product and service,

wonderful parka

Typical parka, pefectly suited for rough conditions. Pefectly true to size, as beautiful as on the picture, high quality, warm and very, very comfy to wear. And very fast delivery to Switzerland. SEASALT Cornwall is highly addictive for all the best reasons. I am very happy with everything I bought so far.

Just what I needed

Have had my raincoat for a good few years, thought I deserved a new one. Fits the bill exactly + a lovely large warm hood.

Delighted with the coat which I bought online from Seasalt.

Since I live in Glasgow, which is a very large shopping destination, I was disappointed that your website did not show any shops there which stock Seasalt, and so I couldn't try on some coats.

I found the Coat Company does stock a number of your coats:

John Lewis have a large range on their website but absolutely none in their Glasgow store.

Hi ED,
Thanks for your review and we're delighted that you love your new coat!
We do have stockists in Glasgow but we don't yet have a Seasalt shop. If you use our location finder you'll be able to find a list of stockists in the area of which the coat Company is one.
Best wishes

Amazing coat

I absolutely love this coat. I wholeheartedly agree with all the previous reviews. I opted for a size smaller than I would normally and it fits great. It is lightweight, warm and most importantly keeps me dry and of course it is stylish and so well made.

Great raincoat

Very pleased with this raincoat- excellent quality, stylish and snug- currently wearing it in the city and the slate colour works well esp with a bright scarf and bag (though I would have welcomed a choice of more bold/cheerful and less rustic plain colours. I did try the ‘oak’ but it was browner and less of the mustard yellow I had expected and not my colour). I usually wear a 10 but the 8 is just right (with a sweater underneath)- they seem to come up big.
[Seasalt: your sizing is funny- I am wearing comfortably together this coat in an 8, a fruity sweater in a 10 and a sailor top in 12!]

Great coat

After looking at a fair few winter raincoats, decided on the Plant Hunter coat, and I have not been disappointed, took notice of the other reviews that said it came up on the large size, got a 16 instead of my usual 18, and it fits perfectly, , lovely and warm and snuggly without overheating me and has been totally waterproof and wind proof, ideal for the heavy rain and drizzle we get in North Devon.
