50% Cornish Clay from St Agnes 50% Ball Clay from Devon

Glazed clay mug. Designed and made in Cornwall by the world-famous Leach Pottery.

Our exclusive 'Leach for Seasalt' collection celebrates our joint love for simple, beautiful style and true craftsmanship.

Our pots and mugs are made using locally sourced clay from St Agnes in Cornwall and hand thrown in the Leach workshop.

This type of pottery is known as stoneware. It’s hardwearing, so if you treat it with care it should last a lifetime.

The full blue glaze colourway is finished with a dolomite glaze, which was used at the Leach Pottery in the 1950s.

The brushed glaze colourway has an ash glaze. As a natural ingredient, the ash used in the glaze can vary, so the colour of the glaze may be quite different from one mug to another; each mug is unique.

This product is handmade so sizes may vary slightly.

Unfortunately we are unable to deliver this product internationally.

A beautiful mug

This was a birthday present for my husband who loves Japanese pottery. It is a very tactile mug and stands out from all the other mass produced mugs in our cupboard!

Leach Mug

Well made mugs for your daily cuppa.
Given they're hand made, the dimensions may vary slightly. I bought 2 different styles, with one carrying fractionally more
I'd've liked the mugs to be slightly larger - but that probably reflects my preference for a large mug.

charming

I bought this as a gift after seeing the good reviews and it's exactly as described. Chunky and nostalgic. Lovely, British made, quality item.

Lovely mug

It delivers my husband's morning cuppa - and he loves the mug as well as the tea. It has a good 'feel' to it.

Absolutely beautiful mug! A cuppa feels like a little treat which is lovely at these precarious times. Thank you so much for stocking them.

Gorgeous mug

I adore this mug, despite receiving the blue one when I ordered it in white! Feels lovely in the hand.

Hi Alison Jane
Thanks for sending your review of the Leach Mug, but we're sorry if you were expecting a blue one.
I can see that you ordered the 'Leach Mug' in Full Blue Glaze - but this mug, despite the name is actually off white in colour.
We do have some blue ones, please take a look at https://www.seasaltcornwall.co.uk/arty-leach-pottery-mug-rippling-water.htm?trackterm=arty
Best wishes

Leach mug colour difference

Although you state that colour differences occur with the glaze on the mugs, I was surprised that the greyish colour of the Leach brushed glaze mug in your photos had become a rather unpleasant dark brown in the mug that was sent.

Hi Gill

Thank you for reviewing the Leach Mug. We're sorry to hear that it wasn't perfect for you this time and of course we'll arrange a 'no quibble' refund for you if you'd like to pop it back to us using your free post label.

The ash used in the glaze does influence the outcome of the colour in each mug, meaning each one is unique.

Best wishes

A great mug

Very pleased with this mug, with its rustic-cum marine design. Neither too big nor too small, it's a treat to drink from it. I've found no problem at all with the lip or the handle. Great stuff.
