50% Cornish Clay from St Agnes 50% Ball Clay from Devon

Glazed clay mug. Designed and made in Cornwall by the world-famous Leach Pottery.

Our exclusive 'Leach for Seasalt' collection celebrates our joint love for simple, beautiful style and true craftsmanship.

Our pots and mugs are made using locally sourced clay from St Agnes in Cornwall and hand thrown in the Leach workshop.

This type of pottery is known as stoneware. It’s hardwearing, so if you treat it with care it should last a lifetime.

The full blue glaze colourway is finished with a dolomite glaze, which was used at the Leach Pottery in the 1950s.

The brushed glaze colourway has an ash glaze. As a natural ingredient, the ash used in the glaze can vary, so the colour of the glaze may be quite different from one mug to another; each mug is unique.

This product is handmade so sizes may vary slightly.

Unfortunately we are unable to deliver this product internationally.

Preferred previous designs

Not as keen on this plain white mug as the others I have had which have been two tone. Also spots at the bottom that were clear of glaze (presumably where the mug had been held when dipping into the glaze). Returned I'm afraid.

Definitely a problem with the glaze crazing

Like several other reviewers, I must unfortunately report that despite very careful handling (no dishwasher or microwave; no dropping) the glaze on these has crackled. Too bad, because they could be terrific. What a sad state of things, when Leach produces poor quality goods, sold dearly.

I'm a hobby potter. Considering the price of the mugs I expected handcrafted perfection. The mugs had both a slight groove on the rim where the lips touch the mug while drinking... not nice. The handles wheren't attached smooth enough to the mug. The glazing looks better on the webside and a bit flat in reality. But the mugs have a good size, are nice and light and snug in the palm. Too pricy. Sorry, they had to go back.

I’d been looking at these mugs for a while and eventually ordered two however when they came I didn’t feel the standard of finish was good enough for the price. I accept that you will never get them perfect or matching as that’s the beauty of them being hand made however the glaze was missing on three patches similar in size to the logo stamp on the side . I returned them but will look when I’m next in store to select my own off the self.

Looked at these online for months then ordered two, one with brushed glaze and one plain white. The brushed glaze pattern wasn't at all how it looks in the photo online and was unattractive. The plain white one wasn't as good in real life either. Returned them both and got a refund.

Dear Jo,
Thank you for reviewing the Leach mugs. Each mug is handmade and hand glazed so they’re all a little different. If you’d like to choose your own, many of our stores stock them so if there’s a Seasalt store near to you, do pop in.
Best wishes,

Don't ship to Australia

I wanted to buy more of these before Xmas but they no longer ship to Australia. Why oh why? How will I complete my set? Why does Seasalt treat us this way?

Dear Mug crazy,
Thanks for your review of the Leach Mug. Sadly Seasalt made the difficult decision to cease overseas delivery of the Leach Pottery. A number of beautiful items arrived smashed or damaged, during transportation.
If you’d like to discuss further, please call our friendly customer service team on 01326 640075 or pop onto Live Chat on our website at www.seasaltcornwall.co.uk.
Best wishes, Seasalt

Disappointed twice

I ordered two mugs of differing finish. The plain mug was perfect, however the brushed glaze mug arrived with crazed glaze and an unsightly brown blob on the outside. Sent pictures and SEASALT agreed to send a replacement. I've just opened the parcel and again the mug is crazed all over. Am very disappointed as these mugs are a gift. Will return asking for replacement in a different finish.
