Perfect weight & drape

Really beautiful fabric. The quality is, as you can expect from all Sea Salt things, 100%. This has a good drape but as it pressed so well would also work for more shaped items. It’s a medium weight so would be good for tops and bottoms alike.

Daffodil fabric

I love the twill fabric which will be made into a jacket to go with the skirt that I bought. I am just waiting fort he time or the Easter holidays to make it up.

Very pleased

I purchased 3 metres of this fabric, and used it to make the Stevie Tunic by Tilly and the Buttons. It has a beautiful drapy hang and a nice weight for an autumn/spring dress. It is rather slippery so care has to be taken when cutting, but as long as you bear this in mind it is otherwise nice to work with. I washed it at 40 before cutting, and it washed and ironed nicely. I used a fine needle and a walking foot to help keep it under control, and although an overlocker would have been nice to stop it fraying, I don't have one so managed fine with a regular zigzag. Although I lengthened the Stevie pattern to just above the knee, I still have enough fabric left to make a swishy mid-calf length skirt so that will be my next project. Shame Seasalt don't sell in 2 metre lengths though.

Lovely fabric

Good quality and feels like it will hang well. i would say the colours are slightly more muted than the image which is fine for me.

Great Choice

Lovely quality fabric that should hang well. Will probably need a lining if I make it into a dress as I think it will stick to tights in the winter.

So soft

I bought 3 metres of the cotton viscose twill and made the Roscoe Dress by True Bias. These work together perfectly. The fabric has a lovely drape which flows well with this pattern. It feels warm and soft with an almost brushed texture. 3 metres was ample for this pattern, even after I added a few cm to the length. This has washed well with no colour loss. Fabric and pattern are the perfect match.

Beautiful Print

Lovely, soft fabric and a stunning olive coloured print. This will make a lovely top for Christmas time or even after then. Looking forward to getting many compliments when I have found a suitable blouse pattern and made it up, as I think this colour will really suit my dark hair, greeny-blue eyes and ivory-coloured skin!

Lovely fabric

Really soft fabric and great design and colour which tempted me back to dressmaking.. The result was not as nice as readymade - but a third the price and I’m happy.

HOW WE MAKE OUR

UNIQUE PRINTS

Sophie Chadwick

Sophie and her textile design team delight us every month with an array of beautiful new prints inspired by Cornwall. Seasalt prints have a wonderful handcrafted look and each one is unique to us, you won’t find them anywhere else.

“The process of creating a Seasalt print usually starts with block printing, batik, painting or sketching. Once we’ve settled on a design we love, we work on scale, repeat and colours.”

“The flora and fauna found all around Cornwall provides a constant source of inspiration – you’ll often find pretty foliage, anemones, leaves and seed heads within our prints.”
