Our business has its roots in 1981. The original shop was (and still is) in Penzance, where we started off selling government surplus clothing. We stumbled across the shop in 1980 when Dad and I were looking for a waterproof jacket on a wet August day. Dad started chatting to Mrs Strutt, the owner, and they got on like a house on fire. So well, in fact, that within an hour they shook hands on the sale of the shop.
