  • Employee Experience & Communication Lead

    REQ000655 South West, Falmouth Details

    Seasalt is an omnichannel women’s lifestyle retailer with an ambitious vision and over 900 employees nationwide across our stores and Cornwall based head office and distribution centre.

    Our people are integral to our success at Seasalt.  Ensuring our people get the return they deserve on their hard work is at the top of our list of priorities and the key focus of the Employee Experience and Communication Lead.

    Working closely with the Head of Development and Engagement the post holder will design and implement Seasalt’s Employee Engagement and Communication strategy with a keen focus on accelerating the value of open and transparent communities.  They will lead on our employee voice agenda, ensuring our people play a part in the direction of our business at every stage of their career at Seasalt and to ensure our people are connected at every level.

    Using our cutting edge surveying system they will gather feedback, analyse our people data, forecast potential issues and support our managers to create real action in their own departments and across the business.

    Crafting compelling communications before, during and after major business milestones the post holder will build credible rapport with our executive team in order to support them to narrate our successes and our areas of opportunity.  They will use communication as a means of connecting our people to our leadership, our organisational strategy, our business growth and change.

    Partnering with our brand and marketing team, they will take a business wide responsibility for communication, setting best practice standards amongst other teams with internal communication responsibilities and ensure all communication channels to existing and prospective employees are consistent, on brand and aligned to our communications to our customer.  This best practice will allow our teams to confidently take a self-directed approach to communications and promote user generated content within our communications platform.

    Planning and co-ordinating internal events, the employee experience and communication lead will bring people together in order to foster our community feel and innovative spirit.  Facilitating events both virtually and in person, the post holder will be technologically minded, comfortable with virtual meeting methods as well as able to project manage both large and intimate events in all areas of our business.

    Curious and solutions focussed, the role holder will continually identify pain points in our communications and establish ways to address them.

    The skills you’ll be sharing with the team;

    A storyteller with experience of using internal communication to enhance employee engagement, promote business values and its employer brand, you’ll be able to translate organisation strategy for the wider business. A creative and articulate copywriter, your attention to detail and proofreading skills will be second to none. Experience of event management and building collaborative relationships at all levels will also be key.

    With a head for research and analysis too, preferably with experience of using business and people data to define plans, you’ll be able to interpret the insights behind the numbers. Experience within a similar sized retail organisation would be a plus, as would knowledge of employee survey systems.
