  • Distribution Centre Operations Manager

    As our Distribution Centre Operations Manager your role will be to ensure that all picking, shipping and returns operations are carried out in line with customer and business expectations, in a safe and efficient manner. A true people person, you'll develop high performing teams in line with our company values and policies with an aim to engage, motivate and train our people so we may delight our customers through delivering excellence.

    You'll help us by;

    • Supporting and driving a continuous improvement culture and a safe, inclusive working environment
    • Overseeing the resource plan for the DC on a weekly basis, utilising and agreeing forecasting tool(s) in agreement with Merchandising and the DC Manager
    • Overseeing the Team Managers with regards to all picking, packing and shipping operations inclusive of, but not limited to; wholesale, online, retail, staff orders and partner picks.
    • Ensuring customer expectations and business expectations are met or exceeded, communicating any risk to plan in a timely manner to key stakeholders.
    • Working alongside the DC HR Business Partner to address any People concerns with the Team Managers, providing relevant and up to date advice in line with our policies and procedures.
    • Reviewing any recruitment decisions made by Team Managers to ensure new starters fit with our high expectations, values and culture.
    • Overseeing the returns processing operation for online customers and wholesale returns ensuring they are processed to plan, customer and business expectations are met or exceeded and communicating any risk to plan in a timely manner to key stakeholders.
    • Supporting and coaching team managers in relation to the following; Coaching individuals, Process Improvements, Safe working practices, Best working practices, Company policy and Company specific procedures.
    • Acting as a role model to Team Managers and Warehouse Assistants, promoting appropriate behaviours and encouraging a fair and inclusive working environment.
    • Ensuring there is a culture of succession planning and supporting Team Managers to develop future leaders
    • Deputising for the DC Manager in their absence when required
    • Contributing to creating and recommending strategic plans and reviews in order to achieve operational objectives
    • Ensuring Team Managers have a robust recruitment structure, induction plan and training plan in place which is adhered to and revised regularly
    • Ensuring Team Managers multi skill their team members to maximise efficiency and cross functionality of team members

    The skills you'll be sharing with the team;

    With previous experience leading a team in a distribution centre/ warehouse environment, you'll be confident managing and developing others plus have knowledge of employment law and people related processes, such as disciplinary and capability reviews. Approachable and open with excellent communication skills, you'll be professional and discreet at all times.

    You'll also be a meticulous planner with great attention to detail and organisation skills, able to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
