  • Area Manager (South West)

    South West Full Time Details

    Seasalt is a growing women’s lifestyle retailer and we now have a fantastic opportunity for an Area Manager to join us and be responsible for managing our shops within the South West of the UK. Our customers truly are right at the heart of everything we do. We live and breathe our product and are proud of the exceptional customer experience delivered within our beautiful shops!

    The South West area currently has up to 18 stores and is where our retail business started. The area covers Cornwall, Devon and Dorset.

    Key Objectives

      • Commercial and financial performance of the stores, ensuring continued sales growth and the delivery of an exceptional service experience through the motivation and personal development of the store teams.
      • Maximize area sales, profitability and operational excellence setting clear business, commercial and personal goals that will ensure the retail and brand vision are consistently met across the area.

    What we're looking for

    The ideal candidate would be an existing Area Manager, preferably within a lifestyle brand, based in the South West of England with proven success of managing a group of stores across a wide geographical area. If you are passionate about delivering a great store experience for both our customers and teams and can inspire and influence others across the business, then we would like to hear from you.

    You will be a results driven retail leader with strong commercial and financial skills as well as proven evidence of developing a successful and motivated team. Alongside being highly committed, positive and proactive, you’ll also have a desire to support the growth of the company and meet business wide objectives.

    Please note, due to the nature of the role, candidates will be need to be open to extensive travel across the South West and some UK travel.

    A full clean driving license and access to a car are also essential.

  • Garment Technologist - 12 Month Maternity Cover

    Falmouth Full Time Details

    Seasalt is a growing women’s lifestyle retailer and you can find our products in over 60 shops around England and Wales, or at 400 stockists around the UK, including select John Lewis and Fenwick stores.

    As a garment technologist you will work with the Technical & Compliance Director to deliver our womenswear ranges ensuring design integrity, quality, fit, performance, safety and consistency in line with departmental strategy to achieve agreed sales and profit targets. You’ll be a key member of the technical team, working with buying, design, marketing and sales (wholesale and retail), graphic design and the creative director to ensure successful products.

    You will follow the garment from initial design handover, through sample development, to production, in line with agreed range plan, target price and Critical Path.

    Key responsibilities

      • Develop product from initial design handover, using your expertise to utilise forthcoming technical advances and keep ahead of our competition
      • Work with design and buying to identify and develop new fabrics
      • Assist in the range development and work closely with design and buying to create a range of products that reflect the Seasalt strategy
      • Create and update product specification sheets from concept to production stage
      • Fit and grade products, contributing technical perspective for all garments and ensuring all products are fit for purpose and consistency of fit is maintained
      • Ongoing risk assessment of products through development phase
      • Approval of development and pre-production samples and approval to ship, ensuring it is correct for fabric/yarn, style, aesthetics, fit and trim. Product test report approvals
      • Advise on final in-house quality control checks ensuring the product meets highest quality and safety standards and reflects the integrity of Seasalt’s values
      • Build good working relationships with sourcing/production agents and suppliers and ensure effective communication
      • Maintain key blocks and assess / update in response to customer needs or design direction
      • Review and analyse return rates on quarterly basis for all products, feedback to Senior Management team and provide solutions to reduce the level of returns
      • Ensure legal and safety requirements are met for all products, ensure they are tested, where required, and meet all levels of EU/global standards

    What we're looking for

    With a relevant professional qualification, you’ll have substantial experience within womenswear fit and garment construction, at a junior level or above. You’ll understand construction and manufacturing techniques and have experience of creating product specifications, fitting and grading.

    We’re also looking for a strong team player who isn’t phased by a fast paced environment. Your excellent communication and organisational skills will be key and your attention to detail will be second to none.

  • Retail Support Administrator

    Falmouth Part Time Details

    Seasalt is a growing lifestyle brand situated on the beautiful Cornish coast with over 50 shops and 400 wholesale stockists. With this exciting growth comes ambitious innovation plans and a need to constantly support stores in order to drive sales and the customer experience.

    The Retail Support Administrator will be responsible for assisting the Operations and Service Manager with the day to day operation of the Retail Support department. This position will be part time, over 3 days per week.

    Key responsibilities

      • Manage and maintain the retail support inbox effectively to agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
      • Administration of internal communications.
      • Have ownership of the retail calendar and whiteboards to ensure the department has a clear view of all deadlines and important dates.
      • Support with daily/weekly and monthly planning of the department, including projects.
      • Coordinate weekly and monthly retail reports.
      • Establish, develop and maintain relationships and communication with key stakeholders at Head Office.
      • Support with the delivery of the department goals and objectives including a good understanding of the retail KPIs.
      • Support with driving operational excellence in the retail channel to ensure its adequately equipped to deliver sustainable growth.

    What we're looking for

    With a passion for retail, you will have a knowledge of current challenges within the retail sector and a willingness to improve operations. While a retail qualification and admin experience would be desirable, the ability to manage and prioritise workloads to achieve goals is essential.

    You will be able to remain calm when dealing with pressure, work well to deadlines and have the communication skills to work closely with Head Office teams, as well as Retail stores. You will have experience compiling reports and producing feedback, with strong knowledge of Microsoft Office – Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Payroll Administration Assistant - Apprenticeship

    We are passionate about new talent and are pleased to announce that we have an opportunity for a Payroll Administration Assistant to join our People team on a full time Business Administration Apprenticeship, based at our Head Office in Falmouth.

    The People team are responsible for all HR related activities at Seasalt including employee relations, reward, payroll, recruitment, learning and development and onboarding. As a Payroll Administration Assistant, you will provide essential administrative support to the team across these areas to a high standard and to meet key deadlines.

    Key responsibilities

      • To gather, check and input time records and investigate and resolve payroll queries
      • Monitor and record staff sickness and holidays
      • Produce monthly transfers
      • Update Life insurance documentation
      • Handle incoming queries and discrepancies in a timely manner
      • Manage employee queries via telephone and email
      • Filing and archiving
      • Provide support to other members of the Payroll team as required

    What we're looking for

    You will need prior experience in adminstration with excellent attention to detail, organisation and Microsoft Office skills. You’ll have the discretion to handle confidential information and be a good problem solver. You’ll also be great with people, a team player and have strong written and verbal communication skills.

    To fully support the team, the role holder will also need to be flexible, happy to help out where needed and be willing to travel on occasion as required.

  • Project Manager - Temporary Contract

    With this growth comes ambitious plans and a need to constantly review and evolve our systems and processes. As a Project Manager within our PMO team, you will work with the PMO Manager to deliver projects across the business, contributing to and delivering the Business Systems Strategy. You’ll manage key relationships with clients, both internal and external, and work with colleagues to share expertise, knowledge and lessons learnt.

    This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to get involved in cross-departmental projects within a fast moving business, working from a head office situated on the beautiful Cornish coast.

    Key responsibilities

      • Management of projects, typically (but not exclusively) involving the development and implementation of business processes to meet identified business need, acquiring and utilising the necessary resources and skills
      • Ensure effective planning and delivery of allocated Projects in accordance with project methodologies
      • Support the development of and adhere to standards and processes within the PMO Team
      • Ensure projects are developed within time, quality and budget
      • Benefits realisation and return on investment analysis
      • Work closely with business leads and business partners to ensure smooth entry and contracting and handoffs throughout the change cycle to Business As Usual (BAU)
      • Provide advice, assistance and guidance in any area associated with business change activities which could include planning, procurement and delivery of projects across a wide range of business areas
      • Be an advocate for the Project Management Office’s Tools and Techniques
      • Provide excellent management project planning, documentation, communications, quality assurance and governance reviews and issue/risk management

    What we're looking for

    With significant project management expertise and commercial acumen, you’ll have previous experience of operating at project management level across departments, ideally within a retail environment. You’ll understand multiple methodologies such as Agile and Prince2 and have strong analytical and problem solving skills, able to think creatively and innovatively. Demonstrable experience of benefits realisation is a must. Previous experience in using Visio or MS Project would be beneficial.

    A strong communicator, you’ll have the ability to remain calm under pressure and manage project team members and third parties to achieve objectives. You’ll also be self-motivated with a confidential and tactful approach, able to work effectively without supervision.
