  • Distribution Centre Manager

    Leading our teams across the Seasalt Distribution Centre in Redruth, you will support and motivate the management team through effective leadership, development and coaching to inspire and engage our teams. Driving high performance, you will promote a supportive and inclusive team environment that encourages personal development and ownership.

    A logistics expert, you'll seek opportunities to evaluate processes to ensure we are being productive and cost effective whilst focusing on efficiency through simplicity for our team. You'll also work with the DC Operations Manager to ensure that systems are utilised effectively and that output is optimised.

    You'll help us by;

    • Ensuring KPIs and productivity targets are met across all areas, and working closely with the management team to find efficiency savings, striving for continual improvement. 
    • Organising, motivating and encouraging teamwork within a large workforce to meet and exceed performance targets.
    • Having a clear understanding of the company vision, and how the DC contributes to this.
    • Ensuring effective workforce planning to attain agreed despatch targets.
    • Leading and developing the management team, with direct line management responsibility for the DC Operations Manager and the Stock & Systems Manager, enabling them to confidently lead their department's day-to-day operations, manage any staffing issues, and develop their team.
    • Attending and participating in weekly Trade meetings, keeping up to date on the state of the business and company progress/expectations.
    • Supporting the management team in the recruitment of new DC team members.
    • Producing a weekly status report for the Logistics Director to update on the previous week and forecast the week ahead.
    • Acting as a role model to Team Managers and Warehouse Assistants, promoting appropriate behaviours and encouraging a fair and inclusive working environment.
    • Taking responsibility for the Health and Safety in the DCs - ensuring that guidelines are adhered to by all employees, and nullify any potential hazards.

    The skills you'll be sharing with the team;

    With proven experience in managing a warehouse team of 20+ people, you'll have strong people management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams. Excellent communication and task management skills are essential, as is the ability to work well cross departmentally to achieve shared outcomes.

    You'll have great attention to detail, strong organisation and planning skills, able to thrive under pressure and utilise your initiative. Previous experience of budget management is also required and strong IT skills.

    Please note due to travel to our Falmouth office for weekly trade meetings, candidates are required to possess a full UK driving licence and have access to their own vehicle.
