  • Online Trade Manager - 12 months maternity contract

    Falmouth Full-Time Details

    As a key member of Seasalt’s online management team, the online trade manager has overall responsibility for optimising trade activity and customer journey across our website in order to drive business performance. Combining a passion for our brand and commercial flair, you’ll manage a team of three to effectively deliver and optimise seasonal and product online launches and actively react to trade insights.

    You will be focused on hitting commercial targets and utilise trade reporting to continually feedback on and enhance performance.

    Working closely with merchandising, buying, product marketing and other departments, you’ll build strong relationships and be fully informed of product availability and launch dates. You’ll also communicate trade updates to the wider online team and tie up plans across all marketing channels. 

    This is an excellent opportunity for someone with an online marketing or e-commerce background to join a fast paced digital team in a growing and innovative lifestyle brand on the beautiful Cornish coast.

    Please note this is a 12 month fixed term contract.

    Key responsibilities

    • Stay ahead and react to online trade, drive sales and ensure we meet weekly targets and KPI’s.
    • Maintain excellent knowledge of products and seasonal inspiration for current and upcoming collections.
    • Create long and short term online content plans for each season that are data led (past performance of products) and reactive (weather, product changes, delays, trade) as well as being on brand.
    • Work closely with the Product Marketing Manager, delivering a plan that is on brand and commercially optimised supported by our key messages.
    • Work closely with the Campaign Manager to align plans and optimise all user journeys.
    • Be a key member of the team that plans out testing across email, paid, and through campaigns. 
    • Be responsible for the final checks prior to campaign launches, reviewing customer journeys and making sure site checks are complete.
    • Work closely with the merchandising team to make sure site content delivers on commercial goals.
    • Organise and drive seasonal promotions through the online channel.
    • Ensure that online marketing plans are communicated weekly to wider teams (including customer service, despatch, buying and merchandising).
    • Continually review and improve internal processes for best efficiency of communication and approvals.
    • Develop the online trade reporting packs, feedback process and quarterly trade reviews.
    • Lead the weekly online trade meetings as well as attending the wider business trade meetings. Deliver the online report in the head of online’s absence.

    What we're looking for 

    You’ll be an experienced online marketer, with a strong technical background in working across platforms and using Google Analytics and other insight programmes to deliver business results and an exceptional customer journey. You’ll have a love and passion for trade and optimisation continually looking to improve and drive performance.

    Dynamic and constantly on top of online developments and trends, you’ll think in an innovative way and be able to adapt to change quickly. Motivation, drive and proactivity are all key to enable you to plan, manage and prioritise multiple tasks and stay calm when tight deadlines need to be met.

    You’ll also have excellent communication skills, able to work closely with the online marketing team, wider departments and external suppliers, building relationships and communicating in a professional manner. Focussed on processes, you’ll have experience of report writing to pull insights and analysis as and when it’s needed.

  • Finance Technician

    Falmouth Full Time Details

    Within Seasalt, Finance Technicians provide a flexible support to the Financial Control Teams (Payments, Product Accounting, Technical & Compliance and Credit Control) to meet business requirements.

    They will assist the Team Leader with the following;

    • Establishing suppliers and customers in accordance with internal processes
    • Managing purchase ordering and receipting systems and providing reports
    • Managing the flow of invoices through the accounts payable process
    • Processing employee expense claims and credit cards
    • Managing relationship with suppliers and responding to supplier queries
    • Ensuring that suppliers comply with Seasalt procurement policy
    • Ensuring records are correctly updated between B2B solution (Blubolt) and AX
    • Recording and banking of Wholesale customer payments
    • Recording and reconciling branch and online transactions
    • Ensuring that customers comply with Seasalt terms and conditions
    • Reconcile bank and control accounts
    • Statutory accounting entries and preparation of audit working papers
    • Preparing information on VAT, duty, Intrastat, ONS returns
    • Suggesting improvements to processes for efficiencies
    • Ensuring all tasks are effectively carried out and completed on time

    Please note, all Finance Technicians are required to study for the AAT qualification as part of the role (if not already qualified), therefore the successful candidate will need to be prepared to undertake studying for this.

    What we’re looking for

    • 5 GCSEs or equivalent at grade C or above to include Maths and English
    • Numerate and analytical with an excellent attention to detail
    • Part AAT qualified is highly desirable
    • IT literate with good working knowledge of MS Office suite

  • Junior Analyst, Business Analytics

    Falmouth Full-Time Details

    We are looking for a junior analyst to join our busy business analytics team. The business analytics team support all areas of the business with: accurate & timely reporting; KPI lead analytics; sales forecasts and business improvement proposals. 

    This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly numerate person looking for a stepping stone into a career as an analyst within a growing British business. To be successful you will need to demonstrate an interest and enthusiasm for working in a fast moving, challenging but equally rewarding role.

    To develop your experience, you will be mentored and developed by the wider team. You will be taught new skills and will be encouraged to continually learn on the job. You will also be able to shadow members of the team in meetings, which will help you to improve your commercial understanding of how a retail business operates.

    Key responsibilities

    • Produce and distribute standard reports across the business
    • Ensure all reports are regularly audited against the source systems / raw data files
    • Cleanse data where required
    • Create and amend reports using Excel (Powerpivot), Alteryx and other reporting tools
    • Support other team members with analysis as required
    • Create a report register for all standard reports
    • Manage the team’s task list to ensure team members are aware of all upcoming deadlines

     

    What we're looking for

    • Qualification Requirements:
      • A-B in GCSE Maths (essential),
      • Maths/Science based A-Levels (essential),
      • A degree in a scientific / numerate subject (desirable)
    • Strong Microsoft Excel skills including, as a minimum, how to create and amend a pivot table
    • Logical and problem solving skills with a desire to interrogate problems thoroughly
    • Ability to learn new skills quickly
    • Aptitude for, and experience of, analysis, charting and visualisation tools / methods
    • Ability to continually challenge your methods in order to streamline your processes
    • You will be working with data from all areas of the business, so being able to multi task will be key to succeeding in the role.

  • Merchandising Assistant

    Falmouth Full-Time Details

    Our merchandising team are the hub of the business at Seasalt.

    Working with our buying and design teams, they review performance from last season to create range plans and financial projections for the next year.

    Working with our logistics, retail and e-commerce teams, the merchandising team allocate stock to stores to ensure each store holds a range that matches the needs of its local market; then review performance and manage stock replenishment to maximise sales and margin.

    Additionally, our merchandisers trade the business – planning promotions and markdowns to keep our in-store offer fresh, relevant and appealing to our customer.

    Nearly everything that happens at Seasalt impacts, or is impacted by, our merchandising team – so the team develop a great understanding of customer, product and the whole Seasalt business.

    To support the development of our next generation of merchandisers, we are currently recruiting for merchandising assistants.

    Our merchandiser assistants will follow a programme that will see them working in placements across the merchandising team, with objectives designed to give a broad base on which to build your merchandising career.

    As part of the role you will:

    • Support assistant merchandisers in clothing and non-clothing teams in producing analysis to aid trading and planning decisions.
    • Maintain our stock intake records, ensuring that Purchase Orders are raised and maintained in line with our product critical path.
    • Work closely with our stores, adopting branch merchandising responsibility for our stores – communicating regularly with our retail teams and visiting stores to enable you to develop ranging strategies that realise the potential of each store.
    • Be responsible for managing stock through the product life cycle, from allocation and replenishment to consolidation and transfer.

  • Junior Analyst, Reporting & Budgeting

    Falmouth Full-Time Details

    The reporting & budgeting team are responsible for producing annual cost budgets, ensuring they are aligned to our planned sales, and reporting on performance against this plan on a monthly basis.

    This involves working closely with budget holders across the business, holding regular meetings and discussing spending plans, to produce a monthly pack that keeps the Board up to date. They also conduct annual reviews to understand what is planned for the next year and how Seasalt’s strategic plans will affect this.

    As a junior analyst, you will support the team and the wider finance team in all aspects of the business analysis and reporting, budgeting and forecasting and management accounts. You’ll demonstrate excellent stakeholder management skills in partnering with budget holders and ensure your tasks are carried out to a high standard and, most importantly, on time.

    This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is AAT qualified or part qualified and interested in developing a career within a finance team within a growing British retailer.

    Key responsibilities

    • Provide business analysis and management information
    • Respond to business information requests from other members of the team and ad hoc requests as required
    • Chair regular meetings with budget holders and work with them to achieve financial plans
    • Prepare annual budget/rolling 3 year forecasts
    • Collate functional budget information and ensure that it is reflected in the corporate budget system
    • Prepare Monthly Reporting Packs
    • Prepare monthly journals and other inputs to management accounts
    • Run and print reports as required from the finance system and extract relevant information
    • Highlight variances and other anomalies
    • Maintain confidentiality at all times 

    What we’re looking for

    • AAT part qualified/ qualified

    Redruth Full-Time Details

    The warehouse manager will effectively lead, manage and develop our warehouse team to ensure our three distribution centres operate as effectively and efficiently as possible. You will support and develop the warehouse management team through effective leadership, training and coaching and promote a hard-working team environment that encourages personal development and ownership.

    With an eye on continuous improvement, you’ll also constantly evaluate processes to ensure we are being as productive, but also as cost effective, as possible.

  • Quality Control Assistant

    Redruth Full-Time Details

    Quality control is an essential part of any retail business to ensure that product quality is maintained and that stock is available to sales channels as early as possible.

    As a quality control assistant in Seasalt, you will inspect and measure our new womenswear, footwear and homeware styles as they arrive into our Distribution Centres to ensure they are as beautiful when they reach our customers as when we designed them.

    This is a great opportunity for someone to gain an entry level insight into fashion retail.

    Hourly rate £7.70 per hour, Monday - Friday

    Key responsibilities

    • Quality check new stock on arrival and provide approval for despatch
    • Assist in any warehouse operation required to meet despatch targets
    • Ensure all tasks are effectively carried out and completed on time
    • Measure newly arrived styles against the design specification
    • Liaise with Garment Technologists (GTs) if a style does not meet initial check criteria, and assist in performing further checks if necessary
    • Update the Product Status Sheet (PSS) with information from QC checks
    • Follow health and safety guidelines and ensure standards are maintained
    • Keep all areas of the warehouse clean and tidy
    • Undertake any other tasks as required

    What we’re looking for

    You will need to be an excellent communicator and team worker, able to adapt to the changing needs of the business. Strong organisational skills and a keen attention to detail is also key and you’ll also be comfortable with numbers with a GCSE in Maths (or equivalent).

    An interest or experience in fabrics or textiles would be of benefit but is not essential and experience worked in a fast paced team environment would also be advantageous.
