  • Merchandiser

    Falmouth Full-Time Details

    Seasalt is a growing women’s lifestyle retailer and you can find our products in over 40 shops around England and Wales, or at 350 stockists around the UK, including select John Lewis and Fenwick stores. We opened ten new stores in 2016 and have more to follow in 2017, so our merchandising team have a key role to play in ensuring we continue to inspire and excite both existing and new customers.

    As a Merchandiser overseeing our women’s products, you will work closely with the Buyer to develop, plan and deliver a commercially focused range whilst driving profit and enhancing Seasalt’s brand position. You will create each season’s range, ensuring our product reflects departmental strategy, is without gaps or duplication and is logically thought through to exceed our customers’ expectations.

    You’ll manage the product sign off process to ensure appropriate product lead time in line with the Buying calendar, and adhere strictly to the Critical Path. You’ll also work with the Buyer to develop a sound supply policy, striving for consistent best practice partnerships, foresee potential weaknesses and possible solutions.

    What we’re looking for

    We’re looking for someone who can demonstrate a passion for product with previous retail merchandising experience, either as a Merchandiser or Junior Merchandiser. Ideally with a fashion retail background, you’ll have strong understanding of the end to end process including WSSI and range planning and building.

    You’ll have a track record in building strong partnerships with other departments and your merchandising colleagues, utilising your excellent communication skills and motivating others to achieve results.

    Highly numerate and confident in working with and manipulating data, you’ll be an advanced Excel user with excellent attention to detail. Your commercial aptitude will be key, as will the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a fast paced environment. You’ll have a strong team work ethic, be diplomatic, well organised and able to manage change quickly and effectively.

  • Supply Chain Assistant - 6 months fixed term

    Falmouth Full-Time Details

    As a Supply Chain Assistant you will be responsible for managing the flow of stock through the supply chain from agent or manufacturer to delivery at our warehouse, adhering strictly to the Business Calendar. You’ll work closely with suppliers and other departments, including Buying and Merchandising, developing strong relationships and ensuring that orders are delivered on time and in full. 

    This role offers a highly organised and methodical individual the opportunity to gain an insight into how a growing retail business operates.

    Key responsibilities

    -       Liaise with Suppliers on a regular basis to ensure that production and shipping dates are running to schedule, once all changes are signed off by Buying and Design

    -       Raise and maintain Purchase Orders, ensuring they are kept up to date so that an accurate Delivery Schedule is available to the whole business

    -       Work with Buyers and Merchandisers to ensure lead times are kept up to date and reschedule or re-prioritise orders and intake if required

    -       Use information provided by Buyers to raise Salesman Sample (SMS) Orders

    -       Monitor the transportation of stock from the factory to the Seasalt Warehouse

    -       Raise and maintain Purchase Agreements

    -       Approve Packing Lists prior to shipping, ensuring

    • Quantities are within tolerance
    • Shipment on time
    • Purchase Ledger detail required for Advanced Shipping Notices is correct

    -       Be a joint point of contact (with Buying) for Suppliers when they have questions or problems with Purchase Orders or Delivery Dates.

    -       Be the first point of contact for the Warehouse when they need information about Purchase Orders or delivery dates and ensure that they are kept informed

    -       Contribute to seasonal Supplier Appraisals, ensuring all Supply Chain information is collated and that delivery performance is analysed

    -       Liaise with freight forwarders to ensure dates are being met and appropriate vessels being used

    -       Ensure ongoing liaison and communication with Buying and Merchandising to support their planning and product work and understanding of reasons for issues

    -       Work with Assistant Merchandisers and Assistant Buyers, after gold seal, to update them on deliveries and agree priorities

     

    Please note this is a 6 month fixed term opportunity.

  • Warehouse Manager

    Redruth Full-Time Details

    The warehouse manager will effectively lead, manage and develop our warehouse team to ensure our three distribution centres operate as effectively and efficiently as possible. You will support and develop the warehouse supervisors through effective leadership, training and coaching and promote a hard-working team environment that encourages personal development and ownership. You’ll also constantly evaluate processes to ensure we are being as productive but also as cost effective as possible.

     What we're looking for

    You’ll have a track record in warehousing or logistics, ideally within retail, at a senior management level and highly experienced in using WMS. A true people person, you’ll also have proven previous experience in leading and motivating a large team of 30+ people. As an excellent communicator, you’ll be adept at building strong relationships cross functionally and be comfortable giving and receiving constructive feedback.

    You’ll also be someone who embraces challenge, highly driven and focussed on achieving results. Your strong organisation, time management and planning skills will be key, as will a great attention to detail and the ability to work with budgets.

    Please note - due to the location of the role and necessity to attend weekly off site meetings, access to a vehicle and driving licence are required.
