Lovely skirt

Such a comfortable skirt to wear either with a shirt to dress it up a bit or a sweater for a more casual look. It will be worn a lot, for sure, because I love it. I'm a relatively new Seasalt customer and it came as a shock to see the "Made in China' label as I had a romantic vision of a little Cornwall company making everything locally. Hey ho.

My "Go-to" skirt

I bought this skirt last Summer and it has been so useful, wearable well into the Autumn. Easy to wear, it always looks elegant but not too dressy. I'm looking forward to getting it out again in the Spring, hopefully to be joined by another in a different colour!

Elegant, but easy to wear

The fabric is heavier than I had expected. So, I'll be wearing this more for autumn than for summer. Simple, two-button fastening, fits well and looks elegant. I like the pockets and it can be dressed up or down. The back pockets are real, but I'll probably leave them stitched up.

Not normally one to review, but ...

I'm not normally one to leave reviews, but I was so surprised to see the low ratings on this skirt that I feel I must! I am generally a UK6-8 but am presently a UK 10 due to a bit of hormonal weight gain and so bought several new items of clothing. This is one of my absolute favourites! The website measurements are accurate (get out a measuring tape and measure yourself--it's worth the extra thirty seconds) and the length is flattering and appropriate for someone 5'3". The fastening on this skirt is absolutely not fussy for me at all--in fact, it's very simple, and the half-wrap is brilliant because I am not worried about it coming unravelled or undone. The fabric is absolutely gorgeous and the general fit is so flattering.

adaptable skirt when in between sizes

I am between sizes and this skirt is marvelous because the buttons can easily be adjusted to enlarge the waist without having to size up and end up with ballooned hips. I love the color green, the length and the material, which is is a softer and heavier than linen and doesn't crease too much. I'm not sure about the fold and think it might benefit from one extra button to make it lie flat across the stomach area, hence the 4 stars, rather than 5.. I've concluded it is better not to iron as it is difficult to assess where the crease falls when you're actually wearing the skirt.

Gorgeous - but a bit too long

Gorgeous heavy, quality fabric of an intense colour. Love the button fastenings. Love the simplicity of it. Love the A-line shape, the soft swing. Adore the fact it fits high-waisted. Love that the material is plastic-free (i.e. no polyester/nylon etc).
Unfortunately for me it was just too long. I was hoping for on the knee, or just slightly below, as shown on the model. But I'm 5ft4, and it came halfway down my calves, to their widest point, which was not at all flattering and looked wrong.

Sad

This skirt looked beautiful when it arrived. I found that being made of heavier linen it didn't crease as much as lighter weight linen seems to which is a plus point. I love the style but found it smaller than all of my other Seasalt Skirts. However being a dark colour I handwashed it separately using a delicates washing liquid as I anticipated a lot of colour bleed - anyone else buying this do not do this ! The skirt now has patches all over it where the colour has really bleached out and the rest of the skirt is dark green still so unfortunately worn once and totally ruined! So sad as I thought for the money it should be an investment piece - this has not happened with my other Seasalt Linen pieces but I will be very wary in future

Looks uneven

I am a sea salt fan but theses skirts look awful on me, the overlapping front dips making the front uneven, I’ll be sending them back and choosing some thing else

A Useful summer skirt

The skirt arrived very creased and it took a lot of ironing to make it look good. The colour is lovely and will go with several tops I already own.. I like the way it looks as though the style is a wrap, but it is in fact stitched.

Dear Suki B
Thank you for reviewing the Art Studio Skirt. We're sorry to hear that it arrived creased.
To reduce creasing on this beautiful natural fabric we suggest hanging the garment up to dry whilst it's still quite wet. The creases will then drop out more naturally. Only use a slow spin cycle on your machine so you don't over dry it before hanging. We do hope this helps but as always, we have a 'no quibble' return policy.
Best wishes
