THE STORY OF
SEASALT KNITWEAR

NATURAL YARNS, BEAUTIFULLY CRAFTED

We take great care to source the best quality natural yarns and yarn blends for our knitwear, and we’re proud of the thought and expertise that goes into creating each piece.

Our knitwear designer, Carina, spends time each season making tweaks until she’s completely happy with the final patterns, textures and colours. Carina draws her inspirations from heritage fishermen’s knitwear and the colours of the Cornish landscape, carefully selecting details that work perfectly with our seasonal collections.

Merino

Soft, breathable and lightweight, merino wool is one of nature’s finest yarns. Its hardwearing nature means that clothes made with merino will last for seasons to come. We source our merino exclusively from non-mulesed sheep.

Cashmere

Warm yet lightweight, cashmere is one of the most luxurious yarns in nature, taking its name from the Kashmir goat from which the wool is sourced. Its silky fibres have an ultra soft texture that’s perfect for sensitive skin.

Lambswool

Lambswool comes from the first shearing of young sheep. It’s lighter and finer than regular sheep’s wool, making it beautifully soft yet strong and resilient. We use lambswool in our warmest winter knits.

Alpaca

Sharing many of the same qualities as cashmere, alpaca wool is lightweight but incredibly warm. Uniquely, alpaca wool does not have the lanolin coating that lambswool has, making it hypoallergenic.

Exceptional Quality, Considered Design

From cosy lambswool to soft merino, our product team work hard to choose the best wools and create knitted clothing and accessories perfect for every occasion. We use different yarns for each piece depending on the design, as every type of fibre has its own distinctive qualities.

“A winner! This is simply lovely. It has the feel of a traditional Guernsey, but is much lighter in weight and the detailing at the top lifts it somewhere else. That said, being cotton, it's got real weight to it, and hangs beautifully.”
