38% Viscose, 35% Nylon, 22% Merino (extra fine), 5% Alpaca

Made from a luxurious, extra-fine merino blend yarn with a hint of alpaca, our Gulf Jumper is naturally warm and breathable and super soft to the touch. This neat, straight-cut knit draws inspiration from elegant 1950s styles, with its flattering Hepburn neckline and ¾ length sleeves. Easy to dress up or down, we love it with our cord trousers and printed skirts.

Gulf jumper

I am so pleased I purchased this jumper as the neckline & colors are very flattering. I love how soft it feels against my skin. Haven’t washed it yet so am hoping it will hold its shape & so far haven’t experienced the piling other reviewers have mentioned.

Loved it!

I was really pleased with the colour and comfort of this jumper. It feels so good next to my skin. I would have preferred a slightly longer and tighter end to the sleeve as i do get cold wrists but hey-ho, you can't have everything just perfect. Can you?

Gulf jumper

I liked the jumper but with the dark lake skirt ( which I've kept) it was all rather dark and didn't suit me so I had to return it.
I'm narrow on the shoulders and this was slightly big.

It's Lovely!

What a fab jumper! It's so modern in design and flattering to wear. I wasn't sure it would fit or flatter, but I needn't have worried. It's a lovely sweater, the yarn feels very soft and warm, with a slight haze on it, which you get with alpaca and mohair. The neckline is pure Hepburn, and would flatter anyone. The colours of the ochre stripe are autumnal and make me feel happy. I couldn't bear to start wearing it until I have a special occasion to show it off, so I am saving this one for a meal out or parties at Christmas. The sleeves are a tad short, which is a shame as if they were full length, and fitted more snugly at the wrists, it would be cosier for the colder weather we're predicted to have this year, but that is my only (very tiny) gripe. I haven't washed it yet and can't comment on bobbling, wear, etc., but hope it will be ok. If not, I'll still wear it but will use a de-bobbling thingy to tidy it up. I like it so much that I have also ordered it in the teal colour stripe. It would be lovely in a reddish or rust colour or plum/purple for Christmas, stripy or plain, but I'm not expecting that magic to happen. However, I'll be one of the first to jump at it if it does (hint, Seasalt)!
Looking forward to getting the teal one soon as well. Just love Seasalt designs and fabrics!

Gulf Jumper

A great new combination of colours, teal and dark grey, love the style and neck-line and fit is spot-on for me. Two small gripes though..... firstly the colours on this jumper are much darker than the photos show, not a major problem as it's still lovely, but also, although it says this jumper has long sleeves I find that they are still quite short, and when turned back to reveal the colour band, definitely more 3/4 length. Otherwise a lovely jumper!

I bought this jumper in the Dark Teal stripey colour, and it looks and feels lovely. It is closely fitted, and a lovely soft knit. The sleeves are a bit short, and it has bobbled slightly after a few wears, but I’ve removed these and it looks good still. It’s not very warm, but has been fine so far for the mild weather we’ve been having.

Lovely jumper BUT

I first saw this jumper in Bungy, Suffolk and decided that I would order on line. It arrived, lovely colour and neck design I loved. When I tried it, I was dismayed because it was so short in the waist and was not the usual quality of Seasalt, especially as it was nearly £60. I went with my usual sizing. I don't send many things back, but this did go back.

Not fit for use

Loved this jumper, style, colour and fit but after six weeks it’s not possible to wear. The pilling is terrible you have to stand for at least twenty minutes trying to remove this and the wool drags as well. A good quality jumper would not do this seasalt. It looks like a rag and not fit for jumble. Very disappointed as I buy a lot of seasalt

Lovely jumper, but disappointing

I love the colour and style of this jumper, but like the previous two reviewers, I'm so very disappointed by the pilling. I've only been wearing it for about a month and it looks like its 10 years old! I do have a bobble remover, but it will take some time to remove them all and I can't see it ever looking fit to wear for 'smart' again. I don't have the same problem with my other favourite jumper, now 2 -3 years old, bought at half the price from a well known high street store. I'd gladly settle for a cheaper yarn that doesn't bobble.

Bobbles badly

I love the colour (pine) and fit of this jumper so I'm really disappointed to report that it bobbles badly. Really badly. Not up to Seasalt's usual standard.

Dear jumperlover,
Thanks for your review of the Gulf Jumper. The ‘pilling’ or bobbles that you are experiencing are a natural occurrence but particularly so in better quality yarns. This happens because, as the yarn is knitted into a garment and the garment is worn, over time the ‘fluff’ gets tangled as it is rubbed. This results in little balls of fluff – the ‘pilling’. The bobbles that appear are easily picked off, either by hand or with a ‘bobble’ remover but they are far easier to remove from a garment containing quality yarn as opposed to a cheaper yarn mix item. Whilst it initially can be a nuisance, as the yarn Seasalt use is of a very high quality, the ‘pilling’ will decrease with wear.

Best wishes, Seasalt
