We love the reverse jacquard design on our Prose Cardigan which reads almost like a weave, in tones of beautiful colour. Knitted from super soft and warm merino, this relaxed-fitting, edge-to-edge cardigan has long sleeves and a shorter, slightly boxy shape with rolled edge hem and cuffs. We think it looks lovely with a simple t-shirt and denim or soft corduroy.

Prose Cardigan

Love this cardigan. Because it is a lovely thicker knit it almost feels like a light jacket and is so smart. Cannot wait to wear it with my Seasalt skirt in the spring and summer. Bought it in the sale at a fantastic price, so extra pleased with my purchase!

Why no buttons? 2

I don't often write reviews but SO have to agree with the reviewer above. Please, please Seasalt can we have buttons on cardigans? What is this crazy fashion? The whole point of a cardigan is that you have the choice to button up if feeling chilly or unbutton if feeling warm. Please can we have our buttons back?

Like it, don't love it

Bought this in the sale, and I think it's just about worth it at the price. I can see why this garment wouldn't please everyone, as the dropped shoulders make for a bulky look, and the cropped length cries out for a longer t-shirt or other top underneath. In terms of the finish, I find the inside-out fabric appealing, but the seaming between the arms and body is bulky and clumsy. Also, there is a long piece of seaming yarn poking through to the outside, which can be fixed, obviously, but gives a poor impression.

Why no buttons?

I love my Bountiful jumper, which has the same knitted pattern in a different colour way, I didn't buy this cardigan, but would happily have done so if it had buttons down the front. You can leave a cardigan open if it has buttons, but cannot button it up for warmth and a neat effect under a jacket if it has none! Please Seasalt, could you end the fashion for button-free cardigans?

This cardigan has a lovely pattern in my favourite colours and a soft light cosy feel. However I prefer the ‘right’ side so have unpicked it and turned it around, also I have taken it in nearly a couple of inches at the bust which was far to big despite buying a smaller size than usual. Very pleased with it now, despite the eye strain!

Not for me

Firstly I should say this is a lovely garment in terms of colour and feel but unfortunately for me it really didn't suit my body shape at all. I read the measurement details before purchase and decided to size down as the bust measurement seemed very large for my size, when I tried it on I think that was my mistake and that I should have ordered my usual size. I do have narrow shoulders for my body size and as a result this cardigan wouldn't stay put well enough for my liking and it was too short for my taste. I did find that the lower front edges seemed higher than the back neckline and I tried to pull the cardigan forward around my neck to raise the back and lower the front but it didn't work, as if the neckline hadn't enough curve in it to go round the back of my neck. Perhaps it was all down to body shape, broad shoulders and a slender neck and waistline would probably do it! I ticked 'true to size' as it might well have been had I chosen my true size.
