Our Westerly Mac (previously called the True North Mac) is a thing of beauty. It’s refined and sophisticated enough for the city, but with all the technical prowess you’d expect from a Seasalt raincoat. It has a clean A-line shape that can be cinched with a removable popper belt, a detachable, adjustable hood, large collar and generous pockets. Fully sealed seams throughout in a contrast tape give it a premium finish. Our technical team have used reverse welt pocket openings to help prevent rain from getting in, and developed a clever new waterproof fabric especially for this coat. Made from a hardwearing mix of cotton and polyester, it’s cleverly bonded with a contrasting colour inside and has a matte, soft touch finish. Waterproofed inside and out, it’s designed so you can roll the cuffs to your desired length and reveal a bright pop of colour. Burnished metal anchor snaps and leather pulls add the finishing touch. Waterproof, windproof and breathble.

The heavens opened last night

So I had the chance to wear my new coat on a July evening when going to meet friends. Just the job, light weight, stylish and totally waterproof. I have bought mine for walking to work. I start a new job and intend to travel by foot. I wanted something stylish over office wear but effective to arrive neat and dry. Intend to wear a thin fleece under for warmth in winter.
Delivery was fast. Love the free returns as I bought 2 sizes to get the right fit.
Also, I love Cornwall so I'll think of holidays when I wear it!

True North Mac

Although too hot to wear this at the moment I see when trying it on that that the shape is Aline & very flattering. The sleeves seemed rather wide compared to the fit of the body but when I rolled up the cuff to expose the orange lining it seemed to change the look of the sleeve for the better. having moved to the windy coast I only wear hoods now as umbrellas don't last long. This had a smaller & more complimentary hood..

Such a beauty

Very impressed by the quality and design of this coat. It had been on my wishlist for a long time, but I just couldn't justify spending so much money on yet another Seasalt raincoat (I have several already). So glad I got it in sale. The coat is stylish and worth every penny spent. I got size 12, my regular coat size, and found the fit perfect. The belt is not short at all for me.

Stylish & great quality

Absolutely love this jacket! I am a size 16-18 and the jacket fits perfectly and looks flattering. Love the orange and the navy contrast. Great quality material too. Thank you Seasalt :)

great

After buying a longer coat for winter and loving it I decided to also get a coat for spring/fall. I firstly did not know which coats were for that season but the online chat helped and so I opted for the True North Mac.

I waited with this review because it hadn't really rained but it has gone through a few showers now and again a great coat for rainy days, like the other coat the hood remains on except for really stormy days and you can still see(another coat from another brand had a hood which went so low it blocked my eyesight).

I love the orange accents, that it looks rather smart as well and that it does not really crease when folded.

My only problem is that I can't really put anything important in the pockets because you can't close them, though I suspect that on a walk it would be ok(I cycle). Also the inside pocked is ok when walking but not when cycling. But then I just use another bag,

Overall very pleased, once again. And the colour means I can use it for years to come(I'm dutch, so orange never goes out of style either)

True North Mac

This mac is a plain but stylish, classic design which is flattering to the shorter figure (5 2"). It is made from a good quality fabric and is well finished, I really like the contrast between the dark navy exterior and orange reverse. I ordered a size up because I like to have the option to wear jumpers and jackets underneath otherwise I think it would be a snug fit. I haven't tested it in a downpour yet but other Seasalt waterproofs have always been excellent in this respect. I have waited a while to see if the mac came up in a sale and was very pleased it did as the full price was a bit of a stretch although clearly worth the money.

Fabulous

Fantastic fit and so stylish. I would have given it 5 stars if the materials were more sustainable. Unlike others I didn't think it is too tight around the thighs

Good mac timing bad

This is a lovely and good quality mac, will be good for work & play. The orange trim definitely adds class and separates it from the usual. I haven't used it in anger yet so can't comment on its waterproofing. I think its sizing is generous, thought it might be a bit slimmer cut but seeing as all manner of jumpers will fit underneath I just changed my thinking on the subject.
With regard to my timing, not only no rain to test it in but discount offer followed hot on the heels of my purchase...bah.

Not perfect, but close

I wasn't sure that I could justify this purchase, already having a similar coat, but this one is much smarter. The belt really finishes it off (and it wasn't at all short) and I like the way you can fasten it at the back to leave the coat unzipped. I agree with the reviewer who mentioned the need for a double zip ~ that would have made it perfect.
