Fully waterproof, windproof and breathable.

Our Plant Hunter Coat is a relaxed-fitting, parka-style coat ready to take on the elements. Made from our innovative, beautifully soft, cotton-rich Tin Cloth® fabric, it falls to mid-thigh at the front and has a dipped, fishtail hem at the back with snap fastening vent. The top half of the coat is lined with cosy fleece fabric, while the bottom half is quilted to keep the chill at bay throughout the winter. The cosy, fleece-lined hood has an adjustable drawcord, and it has a handy two-way zip, snap fastening front pockets and poppered cuffs so you can roll the sleeves up or down. It also has an internal waist drawcord.

Inspired by traditional oilskins, our unique Tin Cloth® coats and jackets are crafted from hard wearing natural fabrics finished with our high-performance waterproofing treatment. The result is a waterproof, windproof and breathable jacket with a soft yet durable finish.

Fabulous coat

Fantastic coat, it keeps me dry and warm, it makes me want to be outdoors, it’s such a good casual coat to wear with jeans etc, I also think the older it gets the better it will look. Thanks!

I love my coat. Even though it is spring the evenings are still very cold.
Great service from the girls in the Bakewell shop. Couldn’t ask for more.
I will return!
Cheers Jane

Plant Hunter

I've needed a new outdoor coat for sometime, that wasn't a traditional wax jacket - kept coming back to the Planthunter, and finally went for it. Much lighter weight than I was expecting, which is great, and I love the 'Oak' colour: that it's a greeny yellow rather than mustard is a bonus for me. Very happy that the sleeves are plenty long enough for my long arms. I'm around a size 14, and the 14 gives me room for layers underneath, which I would expect for a good outdoor coat.
The only thing I'm doubtful about are the pocket linings, which feel lovely but not terribly sturdy - I use my pockets a lot for all sorts of things, as a gardener, walker and with dogs and grandchildren! Overall though - very pleased.

Nice coat

I have wanted this coat for ages and I eventually went ahead and bought it.
It is very expensive for what it is but I still like it. I have only managed to wear it once as the weather has changed and it's a bit too warm to wear it now so I can't comment too much on that side of things.
The quality seems pretty good and the fur lined hood and half back is a nice touch ready for that cold weather.
I like the length of this with the dipped back hem. I bought a size 14 and it fits with plenty of room to have a jumper underneath if needed. The sleeves are very long for me and at some stage I will have to have about an inch and half taken up so that it will sit better on my wrist.
All in all, so far I like it. Time will tell once I start wearing it whether it stays looking good. I will see if I am allowed to update this review at the end of this year (2021) as by then I will have worn it more.

Had to return for a smaller size which was easy in it self with a return label enclosed.
On the arrival of the smaller size I can only say that I am very pleased with the quality and style. The fit is still on the generous side but the coat looks and feels great. Nice and cosy on a cold day. Brilliant coat well worth the money.

Plant Hunter Coat

The coat, a birthday present for my wife, has been a huge success. Its extremely warm, most certainly wetproof and very practical. The oak coloured coat looks really good on her and she adores it!

One of the best options out there

Hands down, one of the best options out there. It is soft, light, warm and very wind and water proof. It doesn't look like the typical raincoat as well and it's an old time classic design but carefully structured as many layers can fit inside it. It's very versatile and the oak colour can de combined with everything. It's wide enough on the bottom too, so it doesn't bother you while cycling.

Just perfect!

Plant hunter coat

Ok so bought at half price, as I think the full asking price is way too much.
It’s not a thick coat and I expected for the asking price the lining to be all the way to the front as my Joules coats do. It’s long enough to keep your legs dry and be it will be a good dog walking coat, it’s true to size so if you feel the cold maybe go a size bigger to have enough room for a cardigan or body warmer .
