Fully waterproof, windproof and breathable

We’ve taken elements from two of our bestselling coats - the Plant Hunter and the Compass Coat - and combined them to create a versatile, stylish hybrid. Our Encompass Coat falls to mid-thigh and is made from a beautifully soft, cotton-rich fabric. Inside, the top half of the coat is lined with cosy fleece fabric, while the bottom half is quilted. The self-fabric cuffs are adjustable, can easily be turned back. Tried and tested on Cornish clifftops, it’s waterproof, windproof and breathable. Just add a pair of bright Seasalt wellies and you’re ready for anything the weather has to throw at you.

Average

Descent coat but given the price should have really used better material for the pockets than such a thin one . Zip does not work easily. Overall average. Not worth the price. Needed a bit more love in some of the details to make it a complete winter raincoat. Will try an alternative brand when buying next time as a result.

Cosy winter coat

A really comfortable winter rain coat. The top half and hood are so soft and cosy with the fleece lining even in the recent snow.. I have space for a thick jumper or scarf and its a sensible length.

Encompass Coat - zip issues

I love this coat that my husband bought me from J Lewis, but one complaint, the zip is often hard to do up and when i sit down it rides up. I've contacted Seasalt who say that this riding up of the zip is not a fault, that it's meant to be like that. I would just say that for £150 that's fair enough but i wouldn't expect the zip to be hard to do up. Apart from this i love the coat.

A Perfect Coat for the Cold

The Encompass coat is fabulous, I'm so glad I bought it in time for this February's cold spell. It is everything promised. Warm and windproof with all details meticulously stitched and finished. It fits comfortably (I am a typical size 12) with room for a cosy jumper underneath. It's fashionable too. I love wearing it. Colour is a dusky/deep airforce blue,

Perfect

I have had my Encompass coat for a week, it's had every type of weather thrown at it and has kept me cosy & dry. I tried on every different coat in the shop, read reviews etc and decided this would work best. Although it is light it does keep you warm. Perfect length I'm 5ft 3 and it sits just on my knees & the back is longer. If I could change anything it would be to add an inside pocket higher up as the one that is in is too low down, if your phone rings you have to undo yourself to get to it! Really pleased.

Encompass coat - dark cinnamon

Just bought this coat from the St Ives shop over the New Year break. Really pleased with it - light weight, warm, waterproof and windproof. Perfect for wintery and blustery walks on the beach. I am a larger lady and fits perfectly for a pear shaped figure. The colour is true on the model photos but not on the swatch. I have only one small criticism, the pockets could have been a little higher up on the coat. This is my second Seasalt coat and I'm delighted with their quality and customer service.

Encompass coar

Being a larger lady I often have difficulty finding a warm waterproof all purpose coat. This certainly does the job. Good fit ,good length, warm and very waterproof having been tested in torrential rain. Very happy with this purchase and well worth the money.

functional coat

This coat ticks all the boxes: warm, lightweight, waterproof, stylish but it is very roomy and if in doubt you would be best to size down. I ordered my usual size 10 (I never wear an 8 in a coat or jacket) and was so delighted to get it that I started wearing it immediately as the weather was so bad, I now wish I had exchanged for a size 8 as I feel the coat drowns me and is not flattering. Shame as it is such a lovely coat.

Warm and Toasty

I love this coat. It kept me warm and dry in a Hamburg blizzard and kept out the chill factor in Copenhagen and Oslo on a recent trip. The zip can be tricky to do up in a hurry but that's a minor inconvenience..

Cheery colur

I wanted a brighter coloured coat to cheer up dull cold days. It’s a bit long I am only 5ft but it is warm and cosy and I can turn back the cuffs instead of sewing to shorten them and I like the poppers on the back hem.
