100% Linen

A unique, below-the-knee length pinafore dress with a subtle yarn-dyed check, overdyed with light navy to add beautiful tones and shades. Our handsome Echeveria Dress is made from reassuring, heavier weight slubby linen, which offers warmth for the cooler months. The bodice is lined in 100% cotton and it has a stylish crossover back, two oversized pouch pockets and a waist tie inspired by artisan bakers' aprons. Cinch it in at the waist for a more feminine silhouette. We think it looks lovely with one of our plain cotton jersey tops or our roll-neck Landing Top, tights and soft leather ankle boots.

Beautiful linen

Gorgeous looking mid-weight linen dress - much nicer than the photos suggest. i intend to wear it both ways, with the crossover in the front when i don't want the square neckline. Can be dressed up or down. Can be worn as is for summer with necklace, and for winter, think long cardi or tweed jacket. It is a bigger fit, so size down. i usually sit between 16 & 18, & like earlier reviewer bought 16, and there is plenty (plenty) of room for something thick underneath. I am not sure about the length of the tbelt but the dress does need it, and the belt loops are good, otherwise it looks too straight up and down. Hope we see this return next season, perhaps in pinky shades.

Favourite Pinafore Dress

I’ve tried 3 of this seasons pinafore dresses and this is definitely my favourite. I bought in a Seasalt shop and It actually looks better in the flesh than on the web site. The fabric is a heavy linen in a lovely muted check and is a roomy fit. I’m between 16-18 and the 16 is perfect with plenty of space to wear a t shirt or sweater underneath. It goes well with a range of colours - I’ve tried with grey, blue, black and shades of green . All look great! I’m not 100% sure about the tie belt but I’ve found a way to tie at the back rather than the front. It’s a little on the long side falling below the knee but I’ll wait to see how I get on with it before deciding whether I should shorten. I also like that the neckline is not as high as some other Seasalt pinafores. All in all it’s a fab dress, I love it!

All time favourite

This pinafore seems to look even better on a "normal" person than the models used! No-I'm not referring to me but-it looks so much nicer as a longer length. I'm 5' 2" and the length is spot on. I love the pockets and went a size up as it seems to suit being bigger and looser. It has a sort of Bloomsbury look and I will have to resist the urge to waer it on the allotment!
Seasalt-why do you use such tall, young, beautiful models? Most women I see wearing your clothes are in the 40 plus age group-and look wonderful in your clothes.
Fantastic garment-great weight, colour and design. I love it.

LOVE LOVE LOVE

This is a lovely pinafore dress, I think it is going to be very versatile. I am a size generally between 16-18 (working towards a 16 for everything) and I ordered this in an 18. It is on the large side, but I decided as it will have a top under it then it is okay to be larger and I'd like to be comfortable. It is quite a thick linen so may well see me into winter here in NZ. The colour is a little darker than the picture on the website indicates which I am happy about. Yet again Seasalt hasn't failed to deliver this is a great dress, beautifully made and lovely fabric.

Love this dress!

I am really happy with this dress - it's expensive but I didn't want to risk it going out of stock/never reaching the sale so I went ahead. The fabric is heavy and falls well and the shape is flattering - as a taller woman I am not always able to wear Seasalt dresses as they can be too short for me but this is perfect.

At last a lovely Seasalt pinafore

I love the shape and length and material of this pinafore - colour a wee bit dark, but looks lovely with a white blouse. It's from the winter collection, but will be perfect with a t-shirt or blouse in warm weather.

Lovely Pinafore Dress

Very pleased with this pinafore dress. Nice weight and very comfortable. Worn over the Christmas period with black tights and long sleeved top. I’m a size 22 and this dress goes up to a size 20 and it fits me fine so probably a little bit big for its size. Would recommend.

Sadly - not for me

I have a thing for pinafore dresses, and this one is gorgeous - but for some reason the Seasalt ones never look right on me - I think I must be a strange shape! Size 10 is generous, but sizing down would have been too small at the bust - I guess it is to make room for layers underneath but I just looked dumpy. I think the issue for me is that the straps seem too long for my body so it hangs low on my frame - but no one else has commented so perhaps it is just me, hence why I've given 4 stars. Material is fab - as a previous reviewer has said - more subtle that the photos, and the heavy weight lends itself well to the utilitarian look which I love. A bit long though for me at 5'4" - perhaps Seasalt, now your brand is so popular you could start making a petite range in dresses/skirts too please?
