Love this coat, it’s lightweight, it’s warmer than I thought it was going to be. Have done heavy rain, high winds and freezing temperatures and I am delighted with it. It’s a generous fit, I’m a 10 with broad shoulders and 5 ft 3, usually I would go for a 12 in coats and jackets, but this fits a treat in a 10, with room for a jumper. I can ride my bike in it too on my daily commute as the sleeves are a good length. Smart, warm and practical - perfect!

Cute coat

I ordered size 10, although usually I am 12 and it is still a little large, but awesome for layering. And layering comes in handy as I live in a place where -10°C is quite common during winter and without layering the coat would be too chilly. The leather detailing is flimsy for the drawstrings and doesn't hold up, as somebody else has already mentioned here.
I think when the snow melts, the coat would be awesome for early spring biking.

Warm and stylish

Really comfortable and great subtle colour. Love the lining. I prefer not to draw it in at the back but to have the looser drape. Quite expensive but I will wear this a lot. There's great freedom in having a long waterproof coat and saying goodbye to umbrellas.

Cosy, warm and waterproof

This is a lovely coat! I'm just shy of 5ft 2" and this comes down to my knees at the front and mid calf at the back. I've worn it in all sorts of rain and it's completely waterproof and keeps the wind out. This, combined with the fleece lining and quilting makes it very warm, and the fit is quite roomy so you can wear a jumper underneath on those extra cold days! The fleece lining in the hood is lovely and keeps your ears snug.

My only gripes are that the leather toggles don't stay put, and so I've had to tie knots in the drawstring to keep the waist pulled in. Also, leather is not a particularly ethical or sustainable material, so, since they don't work anyway, it would be wonderful to see Seasalt using something like bamboo toggles, or cork if they wanted to keep the same design.

Plant Hunter coat

Love it! So far (have only worn it a few times) it ticks the "waterproof" box and is warmer than I thought. It is well made and I like the natural looking fleecy lining in the hood and upper body. The sleeves are rather long for me so I have turned them back .

Fantastic coat

I am extremely pleased with this coat. It is light but warm with the lovely fleecy lining in the top half. Wonderful big pockets, so handy when dog walking for carrying keys, dog treats, purse... etc etc! Lovely little inner pocket too that fits my mobile perfectly. Big hood, but it can be gathered using cord and therefore doesn't blind me or blow off all the time. And of course, it looks great too. Thrilled to bits!

Brilliant coat - a pleasure to wear

I love my Planthunter coat and the pattern. I've have been wearing it on virtually all occasions this winter. I find it warm but not too warm and really comfortable. The coat is also very well made and the zip and fastenings are good quality. All in all it's a pleasure to wear

This coat ticks so many boxes, love the fit, the length, the style, the colour, the cute details like the anchor buttons, but I'm so disappointed about the dingy, cheap-looking fleece lining on the hood and inside the jacket. My first thought on taking it out of the bag was that I had accidentally been sent a coat that someone else had returned.
Sadly I'm returning as this is an expensive item, I can't justify spending £150 on a coat that looks like someone else has been wearing it before me.
Would definitely buy if the fleece looked better.

Not 100%waterproof

I think I have an earlier verrsion of this coat as it looks like mine but I don't have any padded lining, just a nice dark blue cotton check fabric. I don't feel the cold particularly so have found it plenty warm enough for winter. However, on a recent dog walk in heavy, persistent rain(but no wind) I found the wet had soaked through, down my front where the zip goes. I had previously taken out the drawstring at the waist - is this why I got a wet chest?. Is there anything I can do about this as I am otherwise very pleased with my mac.?

Nice coat but not warm enough

I have been wearing this coat for the about 2 months now and while I think it’s a lovely coat it isn’t warm enough! The material is very nice and looks smart the length is great and it’s definitely water proof, the fleece lined parts are fine in fact sometimes they are too warm but the sleeves and the rest of the coat aren’t padded enough for a Cleethorpes winter walking my dogs along the coast when it’s about -2 to 3 degrees! The most annoying part is where the zip is it’s so thin the wind blows right through it even with a fleece under neath and I’ve had to put some tightening toggles on the draw cord to keep it gathered around the waist! I think I’ll have to invest in a warmer coat this year this one will be ok for autumn maybe but for £150 I was hoping this winter coat would be great for a few winters to come! And finally the phone pocket is not easy to get to in fact I keep my phone in the hand pocket I would prefer a left breast inside pocket!!
