Where to walk in Clonakilty

For amazing views, follow the Wild Atlantic Way to Long Strand, a mile of sand edged by waves of dunes. It’s the perfect place to stretch your legs and breathe in the fresh Atlantic air.

From here, you can take a scenic walk out to Galley Head Lighthouse. The lighthouse sits at the most southerly point on the picturesque headland of Dundeady Island. It was built in 1875 and, when it was first constructed, it was the most powerful lighthouse in the world . After a well-deserved walk, reward yourself with some fresh fish and chips at The Fish Basket overlooking Long Strand Beach.
