We’ve been chatting to Kathryn, from our windows team, about the installation of our new festive display.
The Christmas window is one of our favourites to create. The team and I produce an array of concepts many months ahead, then once a final design has been chosen, we’re always busy throughout September making all the elements that are needed, at our studio in Falmouth.
This year our theme is comfort and joy, and we liked the idea of bring nature indoors, so we’ve made three types of wreaths from green paper. In total we’ve made 724 paper wreaths for our shops! There are eucalyptus, mistletoe and yew leaf shapes in our wreaths, so we have a real variety dotted across the windows. We also made around 11,000 paper berries!
Additionally, delicate snow bunting birds have been handcrafted from wire, felt and tissue paper, inspired by my visit to the Isle of Harris a few Christmases ago. There were hundreds of birds there, so we’ve made 500 to inhabit our displays.
Each shop team will spend a day carefully putting the design into their own window, along with some of our latest outfits and lots of wonderful gift ideas.
Watch our windows come to life…
