Winter style in West Cornwall
As the nights draw in, we look forward to festive gatherings and winter days spent making and creating.
This month, we photographed our luxurious wool coats and statement knitwear in St Ives harbour, decorating one of the town’s famous jumbo boats with Cornish greenery.
We’ve gathered together the best of the festive season in Cornwall, with our beautifully-wrapped gift boxes and crafted prints inspired by the wintery west coast.
Fluid watercolours of a winter landscape
From deserted beaches to wooded valleys, the wild landscape around us is a constant inspiration to our design team. For this collection, their sketched watercolour prints capture Cornish magnolias and scenes of Penwith in a palette alight with warm jewel tones. The fluid painterly style draws on the colourful designs of Arts & Crafts silk makers, Crysede, who were based in West Cornwall in the 1920s.
You can read more about Crysede in our interview with this month’s Modern Creative, glass artist Susan Kinley.
If you’re dressing up for Christmas, pair our beautifully drapey printed and velvet dresses with easy heels, colourful leather flats and versatile boots which have been designed to perfectly compliment our collection.
Our windows team have been busy since September handcrafting the tree decorations that adorn our Christmas window displays. Simple and striking, making them is the perfect activity for a cosy night in.
Curl up by the fire in one of our new, richly-coloured Sailor Shirts collection and follow our paper Christmas decoration how to.
We’ve also opened our Christmas Gift Shop. From cosy knitted scarves, to organic skincare sets and delicious chocolate that’s made in Cornwall, we have something special for everyone on your list.
We’d love to hear how you’re making Christmas special this year, whether it’s with handmade cards, carefully-prepared festive feasts or thoughtful gifts. Share your crafts on #seasaltmakes and inspire us with how you’re #wearingseasalt.
