Falmouth Oyster Festival Round Up

See all the highlights from the Falmouth Oyster Festival.

We’re so excited to have lent our support to the Falmouth Oyster Festival and couldn’t have had more fun at the event on Saturday. Live music, oyster shucking and cookery demonstrations from top local chefs were the dish of the day. See our favourite moments below.

Fresh, locally caught oysters were the star of the show. Once the event is over the shells will be crushed down and repurposed as a soil conditioner.

It was a seafood lover’s dream with a whole host of Cornish caught produce.

Even those that didn’t like seafood were spoiled for choice.

The crowd loved listening to music from the likes of Black Rock Jazz Band and Russell Sinclair, even four legged friends could be spotted wagging their tails to the sound of the guitar.

We learnt how to cook a mean crab risotto from the team at St Michaels Hotel.

Annie Sibert was on hand to provide a range of cooking tips for budding chefs. The founder of My Fish Kitchen features on our Larissa Shirt with an exclusive illustration by Seasalt Print Designer Sophie Chadwick.

The festival bought together local artists…

… and drew out some people’s competitive streak with the traditional oyster shucking competition. Keen amateurs took on seasoned pros to see who could deshell their oysters the quickest.

In the end it was Allister, an experienced oyster shucker, who took home the prize.
