Why we’re supporting the Fishermen’s Mission
There’s no escaping the sea when you’re in Cornwall – happily it’s around almost every corner! At the heart of Cornwall’s culture and traditional industry are our fishing communities. Cornwall and its seas are beautiful and calm for lots of the year; but come the bad weather, they can be perilous. In fact, fishing is the known as the most dangerous livelihood in the UK.
So here’s where the Fishermen’s Mission comes in and why we think it’s a cause absolutely worth getting behind… It’s the only charity working around the entire UK coastline that provides 24 hour emergency support as well as crucial practical, financial, spiritual and emotional care to fishermen and their families.
We’re incredibly proud to have such an amazing variety of fresh fish landed off our Cornish coast every day. It’s because of this that we’re so grateful for the hard work that the Fishermen’s Mission puts in to look out for our fishermen.
Your entry must be completely original and your own work, photographs are not acceptable. Multiple entries can be accepted. All ages are eligible to win and winners will be chosen by a judging panel at Seasalt. There will be five winning designs which will be announced online at www.seasaltcornwall.co.uk/blog by 9th October 2017. Prizes are as stated and no alternative is available. All monies raised by the sale of these cards will go to the Fishermen’s Mission (a charity registered in England and Wales: No. 232822 and in Scotland: No. SC039088). Seasalt employees are not eligible to enter.
