Paignton Steam Train

We asked all our shops to choose one place not to miss near them, and this is what Seasalt Totnes chose…

“This trip can be taken in any order, tide dependant, to give maximum time wherever you want to spend it.

“We recommend starting in Paignton, where you can take the Dartmouth Steam Train which follows the coast line of Goodrington and Broadsands through the beautiful countryside to Kingswear. A ferry then takes you across the river to Dartmouth where you can have a couple hours to explore, shop, have lunch, take in the history or simply sit by the river and relax. The next leg is a boat up the river Dart to Totnes, which takes about 1.5 hours and is spectacular. Lots of wildlife to be spotted, even seals on a good day, and some impressive estates and houses of the rich and famous, which are all pointed out to you by a commentary which is always quite amusing!

“You can then take in Totnes (and Seasalt), before riding the open top bus back to Paignton.

“A truly awesome day out for all… including dogs!”
