A Seasalt favourite every season, our organic cotton Sailor Shirts are stylish, comfortable and made to last. Just ask the Cornwall-based businesses that put them through their paces every day.
From coastal restaurants and foodie pubs to indie cafes and artisan bakers, we’re proud that so many brilliant Cornish businesses choose our Sailor Shirts as the star of their working wardrobes.
As well as being a timeless style that’s useful all year round, our signature striped tops are made from the best quality, GOTS Soil Association organic cotton, for breathability and softness that gets better with wear. Because our stripes are yarn dyed, they also wash well, maintaining their beautiful Cornish colours.
Meet some of the characters sporting our stripes around the county…
Baker Tom’s Bread
Our local artisan baking hero! Baker Tom’s Bread began 13 years ago, with two loaves of bread on Tom’s bike.
Tom baked his first few loaves and biked them to his local farm shop. The bread sold out and soon he was delivering freshly baked loaves every day.
These days, Tom – and his team of stripe-clad staff – have four shops and two cafes and sell baked goods all across Cornwall and Devon. True to the day he started, Tom’s ethos remains the same; to bake delicious, wholesome bread, crafted by hand, using centuries-old methods and the simplest, natural ingredients.
His team of skilled Night Bakers knead, shape, prove and bake the bread in the early hours of the morning, so customers receive the freshest, tastiest loaves the next morning. Stop by for organic sourdoughs and unique speciality breads, traditional tin loaves and rye and spelt flour specials.
Fit ‘N’ Fun Kids, Falmouth
Another group of professionals who need practical and durable workwear, are the brilliant people who care for our kids.
Just down the road from our Falmouth studios, Fit ‘N’ Fun Kids is a multi-award winning, Ofsted outstanding nursery that has several Seasalt offspring in its charge.
Founder and Mum of two, Rachel Jones started the nursery in 2001 and along with her experienced team, she set out to create the caring and nurturing environment she wanted for her own children. A force for good in the community, Fit ‘N’ Fun Kids offers an outreach childcare service across Cornwall, supporting initiatives such as Young Mums Will Achieve, Who Dares Works, Family Hubs and more. You’ll often see their brightly branded vehicles making their way around the county.
As you can see from the photo, our local Cornish beaches provide a perfect natural playground for the children at Fit ‘N’ Fun Kids. If they took grown ups in their holiday club, we’d be there!
The Great Cornish Food Store, Truro
Cornwall’s become a mecca for foodies in recent years, thanks to the amazing chefs who have opened restaurants here but also the quality local food and specialist producers.
The Great Cornish Food Store (beside Waitrose in Truro) is the ultimate destination for the best regional food and drink, with a farmer’s market spirit.
The shelves are laden with Cornish chocolate and cheese, fish, charcuterie and fresh veg – not to mention a vast array of local wines, ciders, craft beers and artisan gins.
Drop in for delicious gifts for your food-loving friends, a picnic to-go from the deli or tasty local treats for a special meal at home.
The Cove, Maenporth
A favourite alfresco lunch spot that we’re lucky to have on our doorstep.
Award-winning family-run restaurant, The Cove is nestled on the shoreline of Maenporth Beach, with sweeping views across Falmouth Bay to The Roseland Peninsula. Despite popping up in Vogue and repeated mentions in the Michelin guide, The Cove is still something of a hidden gem. Loyal customers love it for its laidback atmosphere, friendly staff and fresh, imaginative dishes. Chef Arty Williams is a Cornishman, who fills his menu with the finest local ingredients and welcomes everyone, from fine diners to dog walkers.
Book a table on the terrace or glass room, to enjoy a relaxed meal while soaking up the view. It’s also worth checking The Cove’s Facebook page for special foodie events, such as feast nights, wine tastings and chefs’ demonstrations.
The Seasalt Team & Our Modern Creatives
Naturally, you’ll find members of our team wearing stripes to work every day, giving them their own style spin.
When we go out to volunteer in the community, we have specially made Sailor Shirts to wear. And they’ve stood up to everything, from hospital painting and donkey feeding to fencing repairs and beach cleans.
