The Coats We’re Wearing

From laidback linen to expertly crafted rainwear, our coats and jackets stand the test of time and we all love them for it.

We thoroughly test all our waterproof coats in the Cornish elements, to make sure they stand up to whatever the weather has to throw at us. Jana, from our website team, wears her favourite Seasalt raincoat for daily walks with her Labrador Scooby, on Cornwall’s wild north coast. “It’s probably the most-worn thing in my wardrobe and never lets me down.”

After years of all-weather walks on Perranporth beach, Jana’s Janelle Coat is still going strong.

Our utility-style jackets are inspired by Cornish artists and get even better with age.

Cotton twill worker jackets are a timeless style we never tire of. They take cues from traditional French workwear and develop character and comfort over time. Endlessly versatile, we love them layered with everything from print dresses to relaxed denim.

Seasalt Leach Pottery apprentice, Annabelle chose her Gwithian Jacket last year and has put it through its paces in the studio. We think the dust and paint all add to its charm.

The Cornish weather can change at any moment bringing horizontal rain and coastal winds, so we’ve become experts in wet weather wear during our four decades of selling coats.

For our designers, Sue and Sury, a warm waterproof coat that will keep them dry on their design trips across the county is a must-have. Our rainwear experts work to ensure our coats are the perfect balance of technical detail and stylish design.

And our customers love our coats just as much as us! See what they’re saying about their trusty Janelle Coats.

Will keep you dry and warm however bad the weather….a brilliant coat and highly recommended.” – Posted by Starcat

The BEST coat I’ve ever bought! It takes me from the school run to walking the dog, to the shops…I’ve already recommended it to my friends and sister!” – Posted by Saffi999
