Knole House illustration for our new Sevenoaks shop - coming soon!

We’re super excited to be opening our newest shop in the historic market town of Sevenoaks in Kent. When we first visited the new shop we couldn’t help but fall in love with the town. We spent a few days exploring the area; wandering around the streets, testing cafés, and collating some of our top spots to share with you.

Take a Day Trip to Knole House

Knole is a beautiful Tudor house set within Kent’s last remaining medieval deer parks and is the inspiration behind our shop location banner. Owned by the National Trust, it is promoted as ‘more of a town than a house’ and we couldn’t agree more. It’s magnificent! It’s currently undergoing refurbishment to keep its heritage alive but there is plenty to see and do – a full family day out and only a short walk from the high street.

Spend a morning in the Market…

Every Wednesday and Saturday Sevenoaks Town Council host markets on the High Street, Bligh’s Meadow and Buckhurst Lane full of local vegetables, meats, crafts, flowers, sweet and savoury treats, and more. Spend the morning browsing the unique stalls before grabbing a spot of lunch. Pop into our new shop to say hello to our Sevenoaks team, just a short stroll into Bligh’s Court.

…and an afternoon writing in Sevenoaks Bookshop

Fancy a spot for the creative? Visit Sevenoaks’ Bookshop and enjoy an inspiring writing session in the café, a quiet read from the reading groups’ list, or one of the regular talks delivered by award-winning novelists and illustrators.  This little independent shop has oodles of character, just like its town.

Relax in the Vine

If you take just a short walk from the High Street, you will find the beautifully well-kept Vine Cricket Ground. It is the perfect place to relax on a weekend with a few friends or to enjoy one of the many free events hosted here, particularly in the warmer summer months. Listen to live music from the bandstand or simply use the space to unwind.

Bird Watching at the Wildlife Reserve

Take in a spot of birdwatching at the Sevenoaks Wildlife Reserve. It has a beautiful collection of lakes, ponds, reedbeds and woodlands, and is the perfect place to stretch your legs and spot a Kingfisher or two. You can visit all year round, so it’s the perfect excuse to don your Seasalt wellies and waterproof rain coats! Don’t forget your sketchbook too, it’s a really beautiful place and an ideal one for sketching landscapes, plants and animals.
