February | Marshes and Mounts

Classic shapes, vibrant checks and textured knitwear.

31/01/24

If you climb Sancreed Beacon on a clear day, you can see right across Mount’s Bay to the Lizard Coast. Go at dawn, and a rising sun will turn the landscape from grey to gold, illuminating Marazion’s marshes and St Michael’s Mount in the sparkling sea.

It’s here we take the next step on our journey through a year in Cornwall.

Rippling stitches in our knitwear are inspired by waving seas of grass. The rich detail of the marsh’s wildlife inspires bold and characterful hand-drawn prints. A bird’s-eye view of the rolling hills gives shape to geometric designs and high-contrast abstracts.

These elements all come together on classic shapes and in natural blend fabrics chosen for their drape, durability, and the depth they bring to our bold spring colours.

The capsule is designed so you can interpret it however you want. Mix the patterns together, or break them up with fresh chalks, rich tomato reds, or easy teals and denims.

From the Sketchbook

Our print design team were inspired by the variety of life along this narrow stretch of the shoreline. Discover sketched reeds, painted marsh flowers and hidden wetland birds, all in the pared-back palette of a Mid-century travel journal.

The Dandelion Seed print was really inspired by Mid-century design. They often include this kind of circular seed
head influences.

Add a cardigan or jumper that picks up the delicate golden accents at the centre of the dandelions, and pair with denim or our favourite Barnes Crops in an easy, summery neutral.

We hope you find plenty of inspiration in our Marshes & Mounts collection. We love to see how you’re #WearingSeasalt, so share your style with us on @SeasaltCornwall.
