A couple of months ago Joseph Riou got in touch with us to see if we could help him with his summer adventure plans! He will be sailing on board a boat called Moosk to take part in the Tall Ships Race 2012 and as one of us here at Seasalt HQ took part in the Tall Ships Race in 2008 from Falmouth to Portugal we have first hand knowledge of just how chilly it can get on night watch!

We were so excited last week to welcome the Kaiser Chiefs to Falmouth! The band played two intimate gigs to a small but lively audience at the Princess Pavilions in Falmouth, their first live performances for two years.
Many of the Seasalt team were able to get tickets and we were not disappointed! It was a fabulous show with a mix of their fab new material as well as the classic oldies such as ‘Ruby’ and ‘I predict a Riot’!
Lead singer, Ricky Wilson, is a friend of Seasalt and as a present we gave him some of Seasalt’s lovely bamboo Sailor Socks as a memento of his visit. According to his girlfriend, Lesley, they are now his favourite stage socks and you can see him wearing them loud and proud in this photo from a recent radio interview!
The Kaiser Chiefs have just released their 4th album, The Future Is Medieval and they are also pioneering a more initiative and interactive way for fans to purchase albums.
From the Kaiser Chiefs’ website, fans are able to create their own album by selecting 10 tracks from a selection of 20, along with choosing their preferred album cover from a selection of artwork, to create a customised album. But if you’re stuck for inspiration, fans are also able to choose from a selection of albums previously created by others and the original creator receives £1 for each of their copies sold/downloaded! This genius system allows fans to potentially earn money if they promote their personal Kaiser Chiefs album creation to their friends!
The band will also be playing gigs and festivals across Europe this summer as well as, no doubt, making a storming return at the Glastonbury festival.

Seasalt is all about coastal heritage and a love of the sea and we’re looking for rugged-looking sea faring fellows to be the new faces of our Seasalt menswear range. You don’t need to be an actual sailor, though – just look the part!
We are looking for men between the ages of 25-65 years, with a medium build and a 32″ waist. No modelling experience is necessary, just a confident Seasalt spirit!
So if you think you have a seafaring Seasalt smile or think your friend fits the bill, please send photos along with your name, age, height, clothes size, waist size & shoe size with your contact details to: laura.james@seasaltcornwall.co.uk

We’ve partnered up with our friends at the RNLI to launch a NEW range of organic tees and hoodies especially designed by us and inspired by their fantastic work on the beach.
As you probably already know, living and working by the sea is a lot of what’s Seasalt’s about so it’s a great match to work with such a like-minded organisation as the RNLI.
As well as designing this very special range we also want to help them in their fundraising so we’re also promising to make a donation to the RNLI for each item sold from the range. It costs £147.7 million a year to keep their services going so we’re happy to do whatever we can to help!
There are tees and hoodies in bright summer colours for women, men and kids featuring our exclusive Seasalt designs and all, of course, made with our soft organic cotton.
We’re keen to help the RNLI in other ways too so we’re helping to spread their message about beach safety. Take a look at our special page which gives a few pointers on staying safe at the beach and in the sea, and making sure you get the best day out possible!
