Renowned as it is as the pinnacle fashion event in the annual racing calendar, we were very pleased to hear that some of our funky wellingtons had made national news at Royal Ascot Ladies Day.
Every year, on midsummer’s day, Penzance gets decked out in all its finest glory to celebrate Mazey Day and the start of the annual Golowan Festival.
After almost a year waiting for clear, calm conditions, Helford River Gig Club have picked their day and are currently (as we speak) rowing all the way from Helford River to the Scillies! That’s a full 65 miles, in what is increasingly turning into a rather wet day. All in the name of charity.
Our bake off in aid of the Fisherman’s Mission has gone swimmingly! A veritable cakey shoal of fishy themed cakes all in the name of charity – and a jolly good excuse to chow down on sponge over a cup of tea.
The Annual Fowey Mussel Festival takes place this weekend (23/24 June), which mean’s two whole days dedicated to this humble little mollusc, with everything from cooking demos, chef spotlights through to music and beer. If you can’t make it, worry not, here’s our little recipe to some right fresh mussels, direct from a beach and cooked in the open air on a barbecue.
