Our HR Assistant, Judy headed east up the British coast line last week to watch the Superyacht Cup at Cowes, but ended up taking part in the actual race!
“Following my recent outing to watch my son racing SY Athos in the Pendennis Cup at Falmouth, I went to Cowes to watch the superyachts in the Superyacht Cup 2012. It was beautiful weather and I was fortunate to be invited by the owners of Athos to join them on board during the racing in the Solent. On my first day aboard, after some brilliant tactical manoeuvres, we managed to come first in our class.
“The following day, the Queen visited Cowes and walked along the pontoon where Athos was moored, waving to the crew who were lined up in formal uniform on the deck ready to greet her. We then competed in the final race of the series in a freshening wind, finishing in 4th place in that race but first overall for the series in our class.
“Back on the mooring the owner cracked open the champagne to finish off a superb week!”Tweet
