Enys Gardens

We asked all our shops to choose one place not to miss near them, and this is what the Seasalt Sale Shop in Penryn chose…

“A hidden gem over looked by tourists hurrying to the big name Cornish gardens.

“If you’re going to head anywhere in the south west to take in a haze of blue during spring, this is the place to come. But Enys Gardens are a lovely gem anytime of the year and as it’s little known on the regular tourist circuit it’s also a great place to escape the crowds. Believed to be one of the oldest gardens in Cornwall, Enys have been noted on the horticultural radar from as early as the 1700’s. Today the gardens are home to an amazing collection of rare bamboos, ferns and laurels. It’s a great place to take a good walk with loads to explore and dogs are welcome too.

“After a hike around Enys, head into Penryn to Jubilee Wharf and the funky BedZED building where Mrs. Peapods is located. They do great food, even better cakes and the view from the terrace straight down the Penryn River is idyllic.”

What to wear when you’re there…
