Seasalt Student Photography Project with Falmouth College of Arts Spring 2007
After a couple of briefing sessions the budding photographers went off to do their thing and, as you will see above and in our student project gallery, they really went for it! In their quest to capture that elusive 'Seasalt feeling' they visited all kinds of locations: Flora day in Helston, beaches, woodlands, windy hilltops, clay pits and even Newlyn in the wee small hours to see fisherman landing their catch (who says students can't get up in the morning). They also did all kinds of things to our clothes, including hanging them from trees and shrubs, throwing them up in the air, sending them down streams and freezing them in blocks of ice!
When the stack of CDs of images finally arrived through our letter box we were very excited. It was a hard choice but in the end we picked two images (right) by Mark Williams, which you can now see gracing our website, at the top of the our ethics and things we're proud of pages.
We also liked the work of Kate Atkin so much we sent her on a special mission to photograph the World Pilot Gig Championships on the Isles of Scilly. Check out our Championship Gallery to see some of her shots from the event.
