loving majorca

Roz - 18/7/08

Me and my mum have recently been to visit Majorca, staying in the northern town of Port de Soller. For those of you who have never been, it’s a two hour flight from Exeter, I had 40 degree heat and the people are so welcoming and friendly. At the airport I was stopped three times by people enquiring about where I got my Seasalt fish jute bag, with one lady turning out to be a regular Seasalt customer -‘It’s my favourite shop’ she said! A big thankyou to Kaye Treloar, who gave me loads of advice about where to go in and around the area of Soller, all of which I did, and it made the holiday-thanks!-Roz

Seasalting it up on scilly

emma - 18/07/08

We’ve just been sent this photo from the girls on Scilly.

The lovely post office ladies on St.Mary’s had no official staff uniform so have taken it upon themselves to buy matching ‘uniforms’ from Seasalt.

We think they look absolutely lovely in their new stripy uniforms and even got a mention on Radio Scilly!

Irresistible summer sale

emma – 10/07/08

We’ve just been down to the Falmouth Seasalt shop to check out Kathryn’s new sale window and couldn’t resist the sale bargains – Chloe was off to Hampton Court Flower Show the next day so bought some flowery Seasalt wellies (reduced to £15) for herself and her sister!

Liz and the girls were really busy…..the shop was completely packed and 12 boxes full of sale stock had just arrived that all needed pricing. They definitely needed an extra piece of cake to keep them going!

Lots of Seasalt, White Stuff, Joules, Oska, El Naturalista shoes and loads more sale stuff on its way into all branches of Seasalt.

P.S - The sale windows look as lovely as ever – have a look next time you pass a Seasalt store.

Cat Sitting

chloe - 3rd July 08

a new installment from our friendly Seasalt poet, Philip Elston.

Cat Sitting

Pixie beds down in the Begonias.
the gull on the roof incubates
benign pricked eggs.

Carbis Bay with its own climate
is lit by a shaft of rare sunlight,
which sends me straight to the coast.

On my return I observe
the feline form in the ferns
as a toad marches past my sun-tanned toes.

It’s beginning to drizzle
as I put on the kettle
and settle down with Pixie, tea and a novel.
