What: Seasalt Winter Shoot
Where: Tate St Ives and Towans
When: A hot August day

7.30am: Clear blue sky and already warm; Seasalt team rendezvous at Tate St Ives. Turnaround has got to be quick - we only have two hours at the gallery to get the shots we need. Rails of outfits and bags of accessories clutter the entrance - we take up residence by the wonderful window of glass by St Ives artist Patrick Heron - this changing room will be hard to beat!

8am: We check out the gallery spaces. Lighting is going to be tricky. Mike the photographer is warned against using flash too close to the art works and some ultra groovy pieces which we want to include are censored from commercial use. Happily we find a dream combination - the clean curved lines of the front gallery have two large Trevor Bell paintings hanging in prime position. Our models Emma and Holly seem to enjoy the setting.

10am: Quite a crowd have gathered as staff filter into the gallery. We take our last group shot just before the gallery opens for the day.

Sophie, Seasalt designer, looks on...

11am: Sky blue, 26 degrees.
We drive to Gwithian Towans. Ten of us decamp at the beach car park, rolling out rails of woolly knits and waterproofs. Kids in boardies and flip flops look on bemused as our models wrap up for winter. Loving our patterned scarves and hats, everyone gets into the spirit - the colours are just amazing against the maram grass of the dunes. Mike tries some action poses and Julian enjoys some rays inbetween shots...

1pm: We take a well earned break at Sunset Surf - our favourite beach café. Bacon sarnies all round.

3pm: The beach huts at the back of the Towans are our final setting for the shoot. We all choose our favourite and imagine living the dream - surf, sand and that endless horizon to look out at every day...

5pm: More than 600 shots taken - we must have something! We pack up and put away the rails of winter woollies as the cloud rolls in. It's been an amazing day - we can't imagine a better place to live, work or play...
