What: Seasalt Summer Shoot
Where: Lido Penzance and David's Garden
When: August 8th 2007

7.30am
We all meet outside Penzance Lido. This art deco pool is the largest outdoor lido still in use in the UK. It's a classic 1930's design, amazing sweeping curves and clean colours of pale blue and white.

8.30am
Making the most of the sunny spells, photographer Mike gets excited about the idea of taking some shots from the water - we hold him back and he manages to get some cracking shots, poolside!

9am
A classic moment as a rainbow breaks right over head.

9.15am
Followed by a short shower - Holly and Emma make a dash for it.

9.30am
Seasalt Director Neil Chadwick is prepared for the rain (mac - not one of ours!!)

10am
We finish the shoot just as the pool opens to the public. Julian is persuaded to have a dip - he decides it's a bit chilly but we need that beach towel shot - he decides it's not so bad and dives in a second time...

12.30pm
Carbis Bay near St Ives is the venue for the second part of the days shoot. The garden we will be shooting in belongs to another of Seasalt's Directors - David Chadwick. The directors - Neil, David and Leigh - are very hands on at every level - we even get David doing some modelling during lunch!

2.30pm
The afternoon shoot involves some hectic children's games as Tatiana and Carlos tear around playing tag. Mike has a job focussing the shots but it's too good to miss and he does a great job. We think they will be friends for life... providing Tatiana doesn't keep winning the races!

4.30pm
The kids have finally tired themselves out but we have had a fantastic day and with over 800 shots taken we have a lot of work to do to choose our favourites.

thanks to...

Our wonderful models - All 'real people', none of our models in the shoot were professionals.

holly

Holly... is a single mum who normally can be found working at a jewellers in Truro. Holly was also in our winter 07 shoot - she is so smiley we think she definitely has the Seasalt vibe!

emma

Emma... is a teacher of Design Technology at Camborne School. It means she can only come and do the shoots when it's the school holidays - so this one was planned carefully to coincide! The shot of her in our Illustrious Dress is one of our favourites.

michelle

Michelle... is one of our sales assistants at our Seasalt shop in Falmouth. She has three children and alongside working at Seasalt she is a very busy mum. She is a lovely member of the team and is a particular fan of Seasalt organic cottons!

julian

Julian... is a specialist BMW mechanic. He lives in London but loves Cornwall and often comes here on holiday with his family. Infact - that was when we pounced on him to ask him to do some modelling! His wife recently gave birth to twins adding the fifth and sixth members to their ever growing, very beautiful family!

marcus and carlos

Marcus and Carlos... Carlos was five when we shot these photos. He had a great time skateboarding around the lido with his dad!

tatiana and susie

Susie and Tatiana... five years old and a real professional. She was a star all day. Tatiana came with mum Susie who we persuaded to get into some shots too!
