FALMOUTH WEEK
11th to 18th August 2007

Falmouth Week is an event on every sailor's calendar. From its humble beginnings in the 1820's this is now a major sporting occasion taking place on some of the best sailing waters in the country. Offering all aspects of sailing, the spectacle includes classes for Shrimpers, Gaffers, Working boats, Sunbeams and dinghy's to name but a few.
And the action doesn't stop there! Onshore there is an equally vibrant scene. Sophie Ellis-Bexter headlines the evening entertainment that also includes folk singer Seth Lakeman, The Blockheads and The Damned. With lots of family activities throughout the town and a Caribbean party providing a grand finale it promises to be a week to remember in Falmouth.

SAS CORNISH & OPEN
17th - 19th August 2007 PORTHTOWAN BEACH, Cornwall

For Europe's greenest surf contest check out the SAS Cornish and Open in August. Combining SAS's environmental ethos with all the entertainment you'd expect at a great surf event, the three day festival has a strong emphasis on recycling, environmental talks, beach litter picks, eco-art workshops and providing locally sourced food. With its origins in the 60's this is also the longest running surf contest in the UK.
O'Neil who are this year's sponsers of the event say "This long established event attracts top class surfers from across the globe so it's shaping up to be a great event. Surfers Against Sewage are a brilliant organisation and we are proud to be associated with them."
Whilst action on the waves kicks off it is The Blimms who will be setting the soundtrack. Playing at the Blue Bar on Saturday night, this will be a great chance to see them before they hit the big time.
An event appealing to all of us at Seasalt - waves, sun, fun with a good dose of eco nous thrown in.
