James Watson, manager of Seasalt in Fowey talks about his branch and his town.
The shop opened... in August 2003.
The people are... James, Gemma, Carole, Chloe, Gemma and Kayleigh.
Fowey is the perfect place for a Seasalt shop... it's not only a really pretty coastal town - it also has a vibrant local community.
In the summer holidays... the streets get really busy and we open until 8pm every day.
Because Fowey is a natural harbour... there are lots of things to do on the water like kayaking, sailing and rowing. The long narrow streets follow the river and there are plenty of nice places to eat along the way.
In fact there is a great place for lunch just around the corner... The Toll Bar does a great crab sandwich and has views overlooking the river and Sam's is one of the best for fish.
In August the town holds its annual regatta which is the biggest event in the calendar... Hundreds of visitors come into the town to enjoy the sailing, raft and gig racing. For a finale the Red Arrows negotiate the narrow inlet at 400mph. We've got our fingers crossed for some sunshine!
Carole is our resident gig rower... she rows for Fowey in the ladies A crew - no mean feat! Gig rowing is a tough sport - you need to be pretty strong to be competing against the top crews.
Some of our favourite things are... Gemma's puppy Yogi, cats, chocolate, pub lunches (roasts in particular!) photography, gig rowing, sunshine and the new Harry Potter book.
Customers love our... fresh new brands and colourful displays.
Don't miss in store... our fantastic August summer sale; great reductions on some fantastic brands.
See you in Fowey!![]()
