seasalt's daffodil project inspires very spring like results!

Our dedicated window designer - Kathryn Wild - plans the Seasalt shop windows months in advance spending up to two weeks constructing the designs and then travelling around each of the eight branches dressing the windows in her unique (and award winning!) style.
Designing the February windows around her now classic daffodils theme, the green glass bottles and bright yellow flowers make a striking combination. For the Falmouth shop - directly below Kathryn's office - Kathryn had an inspired idea!
Inviting Constantine Primary School to get involved, Kathryn went into the school for two days to show the children how many different ways they could create a daffodil. Using a variety of materials collected by Kathryn, from dusters and paper cups to the little yellow plastic tags you get in flower pots, the children applied their collective imaginations to the job in hand and got stuck in.

Starting with carefully observing real flowers, the 7-8 year olds from Helford Class, settled down to two whole days of drawing, printing, weaving and sculpting. Class teacher Emma Vivien said:
Each of the twenty two children in the class had the opportunity to draw, paint and make a daffodil and the results were a spectacular celebration of spring in the classroom. Kathryn said:
The children produced so much fantastic art work Kathryn was able to decorate not only the Seasalt shop window in Falmouth, but to also create a fantastic display inside the shop as well. The Constantine pupils were invited to the Falmouth shop with their families to view their creations and were treated to Smoothies and cakes, and a gift of recycled pencils as a token of appreciation, with the promise all of their art work would be returned to them once the display was changed.
Telling Kathryn what she had enjoyed about the workshop, eight year old Magali said:
Kathryn and Seasalt Cornwall would like to thank Constantine Primary School, Emma Vivian and especially the children of Helford class for their imaginative and colourful display, helping to brighten up Falmouth high street.
